I had no intention of changing jobs at this point in my life and career (I'm also working on applying to PhD programs for next year, though I'd be surprised if I were admitted.) but it looks like I might have a new opportunity.
A few weeks ago, I got a call about a job at children's hospital where I interned 4 years ago. They remembered me and my work and wanted to know if I'd be interested in interviewing for the director position. I went through the interview process more out of curiosity than anything, and I just got word that they want to have a meeting with me tomorrow morning. I assume this will be to discuss a job offer and negotiate salary (can't imagine them holding a meeting to reject me!) and I can barely focus on anything else.
It sucks having to write paperwork when this kind of stuff is going on.
Anyway, I would have to commute a little and/or move -- which means I'll need to hire a neighborhood kid to come over and let McGee and Milo out in the middle of the day. Still, this might be a good, fun opportunity for me and now it's all I can think about.
