Anna, where to begin . . .

Compared to my dogs, everything about Lucy is in slow motion. She walks slowly, she drinks slowly, she responds to commands slowly and she breathes slowly. She is only quick when she's eating. She also has a very, very soft mouth and a placid personality. When she plays tug she just gently takes the toy and gives it a soft, steady pull. This is in stark contrast to my land sharks, who grab on and make it their life's mission to yank the toy away if it means taking my arms with it.

Lucy likes to be laying down. When I walk around the house, she'll get up and follow me. If I show intentions of staying in one place for longer than 10 seconds, she plops herself down. If I stay still for longer than 5 minutes, she falls asleep. She's just lazy!

The intensity is the biggest difference. Lucy is very mild, very sweet and incredibly easy for anyone to live with. The bordermonsters are intense, fast and far less patient. They definitely learn and respond more quickly than Lucy but they want a lot more stimulation than she does.
