"Israeli-made bullets recently purchased by the U.S. Army should be used for training only, not to fight Muslim guerrillas in Iraq and Afghanistan, U.S. lawmakers told Army generals.
Since the Army has other stockpiled ammunition, "by no means, under any circumstances should a round [from Israel] be utilized," said Rep. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives Armed Services subcommittee with jurisdiction over land forces."

 OMG.......What a bunch of PC blowhards....Oh the terrorist may be upset if they get shot by an Israeli bullet....get the eph outta here....This just gets me so heated....

Personally, if I got shot, I wouldn't rightly care who made the bullet that shot me.

I'd be more concerned about being shot.

Now that is silly. I guess maybe an Israeli bullet is to a Jihadist what a silver bullet is to a werewolf.

It's like having to move toilets so muslim prisoners don't have to urinate while facing Mecca.....Come on!!! Sit down to pee....or face backwards or whatever if you are that much of a freak... But no we move the toliets becasue if we didn't all the Dems would be up in arms about it....."oh they are abusing those poor prisoners rights"....oh boo frickity hoo....

And yet, our President, on advisement of the Attorney General, condones torture of these same prisoners. Go figure

I think they're ALL completely out of touch with Reality.

I'd read it. Snappy title too.

For the cover you could have the White House or Capitol Hill in the background (White House would be more recognizable though) but cut out to be the Cheshire cat's grin so that only the part covered with the grin shows.

I don't think that'd be very symbolic, but it'd be cool. People would read their own symbolism into it.

Is it really torture if you make a clean cut though?

I'd imagine shooting someone and not killing them would be torture. A clean beheading? Debatable at best.

I am curious as to the construction of these bullets. Many bullets designed for match are not built for sinking into flesh and bone and may shed their jackets. Once the jackets are shed the penetration is drastically reduced. I certainly wouldnt want to go to war with the ammo I use in 1k yard shoots because of the jacket material being too fragile to penetrate light armor or foliage. The effect on flesh is quite impressive with light jackets, but I imagine the Geneva Convention may have something to say about that.

I think the Geneva Convention can be chalked up there with the Israeli bullets thing.

Ya know under Geneva you can't shoot a paratrooper if he hasn't landed yet?

Besides we're the only people who actually follow it. Should be the 'Let's get more innocent people killed while we follow this ridiculous outlay of rules Convention'.

I'd put little hyphens between each word but it's too much trouble.

Not true....It doesn't protect paratroopers in the air.

What you are refering to is persons jumping from a damaged airplane who arn't Airbourne troops. Under Geneva they are not to be fired upon. Paratroopers are free game.

*once again donning the infamous Devil's Advocate hat* Wow, I'm wearing this hat quite a lot lately. ;)

I don't think being PC has anything to do with this. This isn't a matter of "offending" terrorists. It's a matter of image and international politics.

Think how high the tensions are between the Muslims and Israel. By using Israeli-made bullets against Muslim enemies, it could possibly be interpreted as Israel indirectly striking at the Muslims through the United States. It could also be interpreted as the U.S. subtlely supporting Israel in the conflict between the two. The U.S. has no such hidden agenda (as far as I know), but think how the propaganda machines in both the militant Muslim groups and Israel would try to spin such information. That would not be good, especially since the U.S. is working so hard to improve its relationship with the Muslim nations.

I agree, there's no need to use Israeli bullets. It may be a minor detail, but in such a charged conflict as Muslims vs. Israel, I think it's better to take the safer course. It's a small detail that could save a lot of heartache.

And those people would just as soon shoot you while you're just watching them float down.

It shouldn't matter if they're airborn or not, they're the enemy. They don't play by the rules. They will kill you. So you have to kill them first.
