Is anyone else horrified of what the dog world will look like in 20 years?

I agree its getting crazier out there in the AR world. So many people are just blindly following after them claiming to be all for PETA and HSUS without really knowing what they are actually supporting. It's so scary.

In the snake community we are going through our own scares. As of March certain non venomous snakes will be illegal to own/breed and it won't stop there. They are pushing to eventually make it illegal to own pythons including balls. Now I personally own corn snakes, but once they make it illegal to own all other snakes, who do you think they will come after next? It's been a bit of an ordeal and its basically the snake version of BSL.

This is just disgusting. I've got messages to my inboxes full of hate and insults about my APPEARANCE. That has NOTHING to do with animals. What the hell is wrong with people? Seriously.
Try imagining all those jerks sitting at their computers wearing tinfoil hats and kleenex boxes on their feet as they type out reams of abusive e-mails to random people.

Really. The thing about the internet is you have no idea what or who these people are in real life. They could be 8 year old boys. Or some weirdo strung out on drugs. Who knows?

You can't take crap people spiel on the internet as much more than the spawning ground for douches.

There are real AR threats out there but the hooting of internet rules lawyers and armchair philosophers isn't it.

THIS is what gets me! My younger cousin claims to support PETA because they 'help the animals!' For a while she even had my 90 year old grandmother subscribed to their newsletter and blindly giving them money every month (telling her that she was 'helping animals'). I made sure to put a stop to that and explain to my grandmother what she was supporting. She now donates to a local shelter.

Hunt sab i believe is short for hunt sabatage
well i spent most of my day lurking at a AR site
i am glad i did maybe i understand where they are coming
from just a little bit. i still dont agree with them
But it was very interesting. they scare the heck
out of me.
They have swept all logic under a rug there is no differnce between
eating a kitten and a chicken literally that neatly throws out why
a farm animal raised for meat is not evil no matter how you trat the animal
its a really wierd shift in
thinking this justifies every thing they do and there anger
There was a women. who fell off the vegan band wagon and
how she stopped herself was thinking about eating her kittenn
as she was eating her chicken sandwich that seems very harsh to me.
so anything you say to these people is neatly bipassed
by a logic most people can not wrap there head around.
Its all black and white it makes my head spin

they want to convert everyone more then about any religion
i have ever seen and would shame any born again i have ever known any use of a animal for anything is the ultimate evil
ok i will stop rambling sorry for a long post
on a cell phone its hard to to edit things i really do fear for pet owners farmers and anyone else. With
h these guys running around

O and the snake/exotic issues i really think the ARs
made them a target cause they are mad about not being
able to put them on a vegan diet and they have to eat mice
yes it was disgussed looks like they are winning that little battle
the public is buying it

Does anyone want to open my eyes to PETA,I've been aware they've had some other agenda but I never thought about it too much.
I have a uneventful day at work tomorrow,so I'll probs research it then.

In answer to your question I worry about the state of the world in 20 years...in general!

I have TONS of pages on AR organizations. Unfortunately, I have to use them quite a bit.

http://www.cornutopia.com/Corn Utop...G ENEMY Cornutopia corn snakes cornsnakes.htm
This is a snake website, which I just uncovered while looking up more on the snake species ban. It may shed some light on that issue for you.

www.humanewatch.org is another one I offer a lot. It gives tax statements and financial information on the HSUS. www.animalscam.com seem to focus more on PeTA, in regards to finances and practices.

http://www.pet-law.com/articles/39
This goes into some explanation on animal rights based laws and why they are generally expected to fail, and why they are unfair overall.

I'm a tad late, but thanks so much for this! Very helpful, I've been meaning to look more into this, and this will give me a great start.

The future of the world in general scares me.
