Has anyone read any interesting articles written within the past year that depict any topic regarding the health and/or welfare of companion animals or livestock? I have to decide a topic today for an informal presentation in a month or two. I was hoping to speak on the topic of the recent Supreme Court Case concerning drug sniffing dogs, but my professor vetoed the idea because it would be a stretch to somehow connect that to animal health or welfare.
Ideas? I have one in mind, but it's a scientific article and I think I'd rather speak on an article from the popular press if possible just because I would worry less about not being able to answer questions posed to me (i.e knowing the essence of the article, but not 100% of the science behind it and then getting posed a specific question that is above me).
Articles? I looked in the 'news' section of the forum, but it's a pretty slow area and there aren't any new articles that fit the bill and interest me.
I need to present it in 6-8 minutes, so nothing too broad to cover in that range, but large enough that I can talk about substance for the time needed.
Thanks!
