Ah that makes me feel better. I was thinking I did something wrong since I can't see any Qs recorded. But I should be able to see them in the future when I go to Summer's page?
Will I have to wait till USDAA records all my Qs in their competitor services to enter Summer in PII? Can you continue to enter PI even if you have that title?
Yes, it will eventually show up on her page. You can start entering PII as soon as you have the title, even if it doesn't show up on the page yet. If you mess up and move up too early, you will lose any Qs you earn, but nobody takes you to the woodshed or anything. I do know some people who wait until it shows up on the site before they move up, if they think their dog is moving up too quickly. I'm not into that - I want to move up as fast as possible!
For some reason I thought PD was what you got after you got all PI titles. Does AKC do it that way or am I just making things up?
No, PD doesn't require all the individual titles. Gusto has his PD; his only other title is his PI Standard title. He got the three standards, two gamblers, two jumpers, one snooker, and one pairs Q. He now competes in PII everything. AKC doesn't have level titles - you get separate jumpers and standard titles and move up individually in each one.
Super Qs are the funnest invention ever, if you are a snooker fan. They only apply to Masters/PIII snooker, and is one of only two times where your performance in the class relative to the other competitors matters (the other being steeplechase, where the fastest dogs set the qualifying time). You get a super Q if you are in the top 15% of the scores in snooker. You need 3 of them for your championship. So, you can't always just go for the smooth, easy, flowing, safe qualifying score, but have to run your butt off and get crazy competitive
Some people take it very seriously; I know people who won't walk the snooker course at all, or will walk a "fake" course, so nobody sees what their plan is. People will change their plans on the startline when they see someone do something crazy. There's tons of cheering and whooping and heartbreaking "ohs!" when someone drops a bar. So much fun!
OK, if I go to competitor services and click on Summer's name should I see results (Qs) anywhere? Or do you just see titles?
I'm assuming you have the paid service, given how you are asking it. When I log in, I get the main page with "My Info" "My Dogs" etc. If I click the registration number next to Gusto's name, I get a box that says "Competition Results (click on a link below)". The "titles" link shows titles earned and in the system. The next tab, "results" is the one I use most. It has all the results that have been recorded, including whether you qualified or not, the judge you ran under (your standard runs need to be under more than one judge for the titles), and the name of the dog you ran with in Pairs (for your ADCH/PDCH, you need to have five different dogs at Masters).
