As most of you know I had my wisdom teeth extracted on tuesday under general anesthesia.
I'm still so, so sore!! My left side is puffy and I look like a chipmunk.
I thought it would be way better by now, I'm on demerol constantly and have been stoned for 5 days. Which sounds like a lot more fun than it is.
I hate pudding, soup, and jello now.

Didn't mean to complain, just needed to vent a bit.

the worst should be behind you. I hope you all of a sudden have a speedy recovery. Keep your chin up!

:( sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better
My dentist recently took x-rays to see where my wisdom teeth are. I told him I didn't have any and he rolled his eyes and said "Everybody has wisdom teeth until they are removed"
My mom doesn't have any. serious.
That scares me

I really feel 4 at a time is too much ! Especially when impacted. Husband never had wisdom teeth either ! I still have one.... one 16 yr old molar had to be removed,, so wisdom tooth on that side took it's place. Are your lower ones the most sore ??

Yes it the lower left that is the most sore.....and that is the only one that had broken the gum surface! It's weird. I told them they had to do 4 at once cuz I wouldn't go back for the others.
I can feel the stitches at the back of my mouth and it's nasty!!
Curious....is it normal for the gums at the incision sites to be really pale??

They say the bottom ones don't get the drainage like the upper ones.....don't know about the color issue. It would seem to me, things should be settling down for you . I'd check with your dentist.

Thanks Grammy.....yeah I'm gonna call the dentist tomorrow about the colour thing. But using common sense I'd think it's better for them to be pale. Cuz being really red would mean infection to me. But what do I know.

eeeeee. I am never getting mine removed. Mine are wrapped around my jaw bone. They will never come up but will need extensive surgery to get them out. No Way.

I had 4 of mine removed at one time in the military, each one had to be broken out. If I remember right I used pain meds for 2 days, had bleeding for 2 or three days tops. It seems like every thing was back to normal within 4 or 5 days. You may want to have it looked into if you are still having pain.

The swelling should have decreased a LITTLE by now. I couldn't even open my mouth much so I never saw the color of my gums at the back but as long as it wasn't bleeding or hurting too much, I wasn't concerned. I still got a tad bit of bleeding up until last night and it's 3 days 'til it's been 2 weeks for me. Hope you feel better soon! That kind of pain.. I never want to go through again.
