I've always wanted to do agility with Sam, but not sure where to start! Do I join a club? where do I get lessons? I have no clue what I'm doing! I'm clueless!

I went to a trainer. We've been messing around with the equipement for a few weeks now.

I'd suggest taking some basic obedience first. For agility, I've found with Roxy at least. They have to be solid with their "waits", good off leash and well generally focused.

The obedience really helped with that.

Call your local kennel club and just check it out.

Go ahead and search for an agility club in your area- they're usually quite common. A quick look around the internet will probably take care of that. Most agility clubs will hold classes that allow you to learn all the basics for a very reasonable sum. And it's *definitely* a lot easier to do than trying to learn it all by yourself. As you get more competitive they will offer more advanced classes.

Clubs will generally let you come and view a few lessons without your dog, to get a feel for it, and see if you'd like to join. Most also require that your dog know basic obedience, but it sounds like you and Sam might be okay there. (Although you're right, a refresher course is never a bad idea!)

me and harley are starting agility in a couple of months, and i really want to go far with him in it!

we're joining two clubs (every one on the island) which will put us training twice a week, then we're getting some equipment for home,
he will start his training when he is 1 year old as that is the earliest they will start training the dogs
and by then he should have finished his obediance too

The reason I just mentioned the obedience class is not only to make sure you have the basic commands down, but I found that Roxy knew it was time to work, she knew what the atmosphere was going to be like... "For this full hour, I have to listen closely, be obedient and if I listen well I get lots of treats!" LOL

The obedience also built some trust and confidence in our relationship so when it came to learning obstacles like the teeter or the tunnel she wasn't wary and trusted me fully.

probably u can start train basic commands at home first, like jump.. just use anything set with low height and start ask him to jump over, adds on simple low jumps at home to try on him.
make it fun, set it as a game and important build up his drive. u can use anything at home to set simple obstacles, just hv to b more creative. after he found so much fun to play on the obstacles u can then start looking for a sch or club, some dogs just need time to adjust, so start it slow n fun is much more better than u mix him with many dogs and new environment by a sudden. just my thought. hope it helps.
hv fun!
