Nike was 35 dollars but that came with nothing but a complimentary vet exam, no spay no shots. Oh and a tiny puppy pack with some coupons and an itty bitty bag of pedigree.

Boris - $450... Considering we might have to spend a lot on hip problems, a rip off (still love him though :D)

Tips - 250$ from a rescue.

bowie cost me 25 bucks to adopt - including his neuter, his first hernia surgery, vaccines, and a microchip. we will ignore the $15,000+ i later spent on him.

mya cost me nothing to adopt. she came spayed and up to date on vaccines (a friend did the spay). we will ignore the 4000+ she cost me in the 9 months i had her :)

willow cost me nothing to adopt. she came spayed, up to date on vaccines, and tattooed. we will ignore the 1200+ i spent on her in the 8 months i had her :)

rah technically cost me nothing to adopt and came with "nothing", but his neuter, vaccines, and microchip cost about 400 bucks and that was the term of his adoption. owning him has been the cheapest 4 months of dog ownership ever, i think :) but the monetary value of things he chews up makes up for that...

Nothing. I got her through my friend's rescue; she pulled her from a high-kill shelter in WV for $25. She came spayed and UTD.

Mine went back to 1949 so prices then and now don't count. I only bought 3 Goldens after that and the rest were home bred. My last litter (15 yrs ago ) sold for $500. My new Ollie was $125 from the HS ...neutered, all shots and micro chipped ( housebroken and kennel trained ). First " mutt " I've ever owned !

I can't believe how lucky you guys are in US :) . Over here in Europe you can hardly get a dog for less than 800 Euro. They mostly sell pups for 1000 Euro + ........ I know it's worth to pay the price, but still.....

Same with me - I have only bought a few dogs over the years, as we bred the rest. The only current purchased dog is our Westie, who cost $150 from a BYB.

Of the two Collies I've bought, one was $600 (1996) and the other was $800 (1998). I had a rescue JRT and he was nuetered/vaccinated - $150. My rescue greyhound, also neutered and vaccinated, cost me $75. My ex's Pit Bulls were all less than $50 each (all from BYB) and the Am Staff was $500.
