I have to say here that i am totally NOT defending chibree with wanting to go on Breeding after all that her Bitch went through recently.

But are you all sure she is talking of Breeding the same Bitch again? Or will it be the puppy without (or possibly with) the CP??.

Chibree............I was one of the ones defending you when you 1st came here asking for help............the reason i was defending you is b/c the damage of Zoey being pregnant was already done.

I think that you didn't learn one thing about breeding or the ethics of it...........even after your dog almost died. :(

And you state to LOVE your dogs

Chibree did post on another thread that she is no longer part of Chazhound, though she did come back to stir up the pot.

She also wanted to give the other poster names of other forums that do tolerate her behavior. Scary to think that there are sites that advocate this type of thing, isn't it! Definitely not a place like Chazhound, or a place I’d want to be.

There are some scary boards and e-mail lists out there. Last year, I stumbled upon a fairly active board and decided to join in. After about a week or two I was so disgusted by the blatant support of BYB breeding programs that I PM'd one of the moderators. Turns out that if you speak up against one of the members, questioning their breeding ethics, they warn you once and then ban you if you do it again. And yeah, instead of unsubscribing, I got myself banned. Said my piece and I was out. :lol-sign: :p

And about the e-mail lists: there are a number of dog related yahoo groups. There's one called Pregnancy and Pups and I am a member. I never post, I just read it. It should be called BYB Central. It's so horrid, IMO.

Education is only half of it.

Before I was educated about BYB's, both of my dogs were s/n.

Before I was educated, I spend too much money on my dogs now and don't want either the financial responsibility of MORE dogs  or the emotional responsibility of making sure they all get to good homes. TOO MUCH RESPONSIBILITY FOR ME!

A lot of it education, but some has to do with someones hard headedness. (had to make up a word)

I want puppies. It's my dog. So it's my choice.

That attitude is so close minded to everything that has to be done with a litter. Let alone many litters. Ack.

It blows my mind the ignorant, stupid people that think they can just do what they want with their (so called) beloved pets. everytime I read about another "breeder" that has no idea I get more dispondant, breeding from bitches that have already had difficulties during labour, breeding from bitches with CP? breeding from dogs with no health checks is just plain selfish red neck stupidity, they dont care, its all about the money why dont they just go out and get a job to earn a wage instead of profiting from their poor animals.

A "kennel blind" person has a tendency to believe that they are knowledgeable and objective, when in fact they are unable to see real weaknesses in their dogs that are obvious to others.

Yep I understand that. . .people have to insist that "No really, my dog is sooo sweet, I mean I want a puppy just like her!! Yeah, but just one litter, I can't 'waste' her!" I hear that all the time.

LOL! :p I replied to Chibree's ignorance first and asked if she was going to breed her cleft palate puppy  If she isn't even a regular on Chaz anymore and keeps coming back to stir the pot then she should go :D I'd like to know what other forum she is on. I hope its not prodoggroomingsupplies.com. I did notice someone asking alot of questions on a Chi breeding on there :(

Well , we tried . Hate to say it, but one day down the road this will come back and bite her !! Some folks listen .... some don't. I remember once a female Golden owner called me all excited. His " beautiful Golden " had just come into her first heat and he wanted to breed her to Bubba. Great , I said !! Call me back her 1st heat after she's had all the testings at 2 ....I thought that might be the end of an " eager " breeder , but by golly he followed up on all my suggestions ( even bought " THE " book. ) . He drove 1 1/2 hrs every other day three times , as he didn't want to leave his baby with me. He built a wonderful whelping pen and a year later had a cookout for all the pups on their birthday .... I was very pleased with everything and so were the buyers. There are dedicated one time breeders and BYBs....
