I want to get Mack's breeder's nailed SO bad for doing this. They are still breeding dogs that they know have had vicious tendencies and are breeding a female at 8 months. Is there a special place I go to report BYB's or can they just get away with this stuff?

sadly they can just get away with it. legally any idiot is allowed to breed any dog.

you could see if they have enough dogs for a kennel license to be required, and have city/county fine them if they don't,but that's about it. :(

I'm with you Julie... if they are registered you could go through AKC ....otherwise, I don't know what can be done except try to get a State law that would cost them for every litter.

unfortunetely they aren't registered because they only breed mutts  . I'll have to try and figure out about getting them checked out and charged for litters.

I'd go to the vet offices, shelters, rescues and give them detailed information on what they are doing and why it's wrong. Tell your story and give the whole thing in writing.

Possibly report them here? http://www.paws.org/help/report/

I've seen some so called reputable show breeders that are horrible breeders as well. One gentleman who breeds and show (and very respected member of the CKC) and he is a judge as well....he bred a 13 year old Newf  Every one knew, but what can you do. Even in my area the SPCA has an agreement with the local puppy mill, when the old dogs are finished being bred they are to be given over to the SPCA. There are no fines and as long as the dogs have food and shelter there is nothing much else they can do.

There is also a big name Giant Schnauzer breeder down in the states called Skansen Kennels. I talked to a few people and there was a big thing on the internet (I can't find it now) complaining about this kennel. They are big time mass producers, produce and sell dysplasic pups and have horrible living conditions for the dogs. In the show world this breeder is well respected. I am going to try and find that write up on this kennel...all I am going by is hear say.

Unfortunately just because they breed and show their dogs does not mean they are not puppy mill calaber. I have personally seen horrid conditions at kennels where the dogs were bred and shown. AKC doesn't care unless they do not meet there guidelines which in recent years they have stiffened up quite abit. They also can at random check kennels and all dogs must be able to be identified by some physical means. This has helped weed out some of the real byb but unfortunately there are still too many out there. Its buyers beware................CKC is where all the byb go, please............that is a joke for a kennel club.
