Hike with puppy - and my appaloosa girl

My good friend and I took his 3.5 month old puppy on a hike the other day and had a blast. I thought I'd share.

Much of the hike was spent like this:

Thanks guys. These are all in Southwest Virginia. More specifically, the hike is called "McAffee's Knob." It's on the AT and is one of the more well known overlooks on the trail. There's a parking area nearby, so it can be done as a day hike in 7 miles or so. Last time I was there was years ago, so it was great to be back on a sunny day!

Thanks! Allie is 13, I think She's the perfect age - young enough to have lots of time left, but old enough to be sane. I do love the varnish roan appaloosas. My last leased girl was varnish roan too, but she (Billie, the other horse) was not nearly as reddish. Allie is also tinier and much lazier (!!) than Billie was.

Billie definitely still wins favorite horse award, but Allie's a good girl and I like her a lot.

Such a beautiful place to have a good walk. Your puppy is so cute and Allie is so gorgeous. The peak is also a very nice spot to stay after a long walk.
