Hello all,

Just registered today hoping for suggestions as to why my son's dog (part pit bull) has a feverish head, but his nose is cold. He has not appetite, and won't get up to play as he usually does. My son described the symptom to me as: Mom, his head is burning up! I googled "dog's head is hot", and got nothing but sites on hotdogs. Can anyone advise?

Hi and welcome to Chazhound! We can't be much help in diagnosing your son's dog so he should see a vet. Does he have a rectal thermometer? That way he can see if the dog really has a temperature. Since his behavior has changed there is probably something not right and he should see the vet to be sure. I hope everything is all right with the dog please keep us updated!

Hi...welcome to Chaz!!

I've many times thought that my Dachshund's head was hot, and he was perfectly fine.

Taking the dogs temp would be a good idea.
