Be a responsible owner and take him to the vet. If your child couldn't put any weight on his/her foot and was howling in pain you'd take him/her to the doctor wouldn't you?

How long did he act as tho he was in pain, crying? If it was more than a couple of minutes I agree that he should be seen by a vet.

On the other hand one of mine, Chloe, is a definite drama queen. I have learned with her (after many rushed visits to the vets) instead of immediately setting out on the trip to give it a moment and if she continues limping and/or whimpering to grab either one of her absolute favorite toys or treats. I have discovered that she thrives on the "poor baby" attention and will play the part to the hilt. But her secret is revealed if I toss her favorite toy & she immediately & completely forgets about her "oh so painful injury" and starts running & bouncing around with no limp or crying. :)

I hope your furpal is OK!

Oh, we've all been through the drama a time or two, haven't we Poodle? Kharma earned the title "Drama Queen" very quickly after we brought her home. She'd have Shiva down chewing on her, pulling her jowls and just generally being a pain in the tail, but Kharma would be the one whimpering like she was being hurt. I learned after telling Shiva to be gentle with the baby - not looking to check when I did it - and then turning around when the whimpering continued and catching the little soap opera princess in the "act" so to speak! Poor Shiva!

Purdue used to limp around and act like he had a hurt foot when he wanted attention, and wasn't satisfied until I'd wrap it up and sympathize with him.

Debi's Hammie pulled the same stunt on her recently . . .
