Hi everyone
I don't have a dog yet, but I'm looking forward to getting one. Since my husband and I live in an apartment we decided to wait till we buy a house. A couple days ago, we put an offer on a house, so now I'm getting excited about getting a dog!

That is exciting. Are you adopting or going to a breeder? What kind of dog are you looking at?

we've decided we want to adopt from a pet shelter, but we're not absolutely sure what kind of dog yet. we were thinking cocker spaniel originally, but there aren't a lot of those in shelters around here. Husband is leaning towards a lab, so we'll probably go with that

heheh petfinder is a great tool (huge curse depending on how you look at it) if you are looking for a specific kind of dog in your area.

There could be cocker spaniels in a rescue near you. (if you would prefer one over a lab)

thanks everybody! We got the appraisal for the house ordered today, and our realtor is confident we'll close in about 3 weeks! we're so excited!
