I haven't ever hated them specifically, but more the things they do. I try to always remember that something that they are doing is usually a result of something I did/didn't do. (Although usually it's my husband's fault, but he's always in training.)

Keep your head up - you'll think of something and it will pass!

BTW, I ditto the food thing - we had switched the dogs' food a while back and I can't tell you how many times a week I came home to two poop covered crates. NASTAY. It could be something like that, or something stress related. Have you guys had a lot of storms lately?

I've been frustrated, irritated, appalled. . .never hated any dog I've ever had, though.

Plottmom - ((((HUGS)))) It will go away eventually. I promise. It's tough while it lasts, though, and hard to remember why you love them. Is there any way to change the feeding schedule to once a day? The I would think she would poop once a day. That might help. And moving the crate closer to the bathroom might help.
I'm going to change her feeding to just in the morning... and the crate can't physically get any closer to the bathroom, thank goodness.

I'll ask at her next vet check - she's goes in in a week anyway when she's off her doxy.

And I don't like to leave her out at night because a large percentage of the time, she'll pee before I get home. Not because she CAN'T hold it, but in my experience with these dogs, they don't really care enough to... every pit bull I've ever worked with will be waiting at the door with their legs crossed, all my hounds will be sleeping on the couch after having piddled already... leaving her out just keeps taking our housetrainining backwards...

And a cat that is currently looking at me, I have times where I REALLY don't want anything to do with him, he's such a demanding little asshole
Do I ever know where you're coming from. Cats. So annoying at times.

I don't *think* I've ever hated Roman. I've been annoyed, irritated and severely irritated by him, disappointed with, fed up with and disgusted by him. There have been times (especially when he was younger) that I wish I didn't own him anymore. But I can't remember ever *hating* him.

you guys are making me kind of glad I don't have cats ;) my friend has six, though, that I've been watching... I've gotta say, they're kinda cool. The boys more so than the girls...

ETA: Digusted and disappointed pretty much sums up my feelings by now. The hatred is dissipating. We're going running in an hour.

I hope you can find a solution for you and Liz, asap.

I've never hated my girl, but of course you get those feelings of frustration and irritation. But now, this is more directed at myself because I am a training numpty, but unfortunately the emotion is the same and my dog can feel it. So it's no good for me to be feeling this way, I have to work on this some more. I can't say that she does much at home that would annoy or frustrate me.

Well, I tell them rather frequently, "I hate dogs!" They don't seem to take it to heart, though....

Yep, I've hated my dogs before. Maybe not the kind of hatred that lasts, or I wouldn't have dogs, but there have definitely been moments of rage when I just muttered "I fscking hate dogs" over and over to myself as I cleaned up some sort of carnage they had created.

Eve is my souldog and there's not a thing I'd change about her, but she had a period that started about a year ago and ended about 2-3 months ago where she would get terrified of certain sounds (sounds I couldn't really hear), panic, and either scratch up my skin as she tried to burrow herself underneath me, or pee/poop on the floor. She only ever did this at home, never in public or in the car. It was infuriating. I didn't even want to look at her. I couldn't desensitize her to any of the noises because I didn't even know what noises set her off. I just put her in another room, or put her in a crate. I interacted with her less because I didn't want her to know how frustrated I was with her.

All I can do when I get angry with my dog is exercise the hell out of her, play with her and do the things I enjoy with her. When we're done with that, I've burned off most of my rage, she's burned off any remaining energy, and I am able to remember why I love my dog so much.

Never hated my dogs, though I have gotten incredibly frustrated with each of them at times. I have come very close to hating the cat though - like totally pissed off, frustrated, want to make him fend for himself, but I never acted on it.

LMAO. Yes. Yes I have. And Auggie has hated me too I think.

It's okay. He is special. I love him for the same reasons I hate him.

I've had a dog I absolutely hated before, much for the same reasons as Plott mentioned. Except he wasn't crated more than 5 hours at a time and would pee/poop and roll in it in the crate. Since I didn't have a yard that was fenced, that meant in the bathtub scrubbing for him. So nasty! Not only that but he belonged to someone else who finally refused to come get him (I don't blame her).

I have been incredibly embarrassed by and irritated with both my dogs before, but I don't know if it's ever been to the hatred stage (although I know it's been close!). Molly when she's barking at children and Hailey when she acts aggressively toward other dogs, ugh, they just get to me, and I wonder if they would be better off living with someone else :( But it passes. Most of the time they're very good dogs, well suited to our lifestyle.

I've hated them both before, randomly. Either because they've physically hurt me (not on purpose, I'm talking stretching and scratching the heck out of my back or something) or caused destruction to eachother / something. I hated Cheza when she bit Lyra as a puppy... it goes away pretty quick though.

You mentioned your pup has been on doxy. Doxycycline? That could very well be your problem right there. Probably is having an intestinal issue due to antibiotics. Very common.

God I hope that's it. She's done with it Thursday, I think.

But her poo is normal... is that normal? lol

I changed crates on her tonight, now that Abby is gone - I took the wire crate out and washed it and gave her Abby's old enclosed airline-style crate. She seemed less hesitant to go into it, so I'm hoping maybe this is stress and she'll feel better in there?

I also walked her for like two hours, and whilst she peed like a billion times, she refused to poo. So, I have a feeling I know what I'm in for, but I'm crossing my fingers she behaves until I get home.

And OMG Cheza - I HATE when they accidently scratch the crap out of you! It's truly a lesson in patience, because you KNOW they don't mean to. Daisy launched herself off my toe the other day and made it bleed (she was excited I was singing happy birthday to her... :lol-sign: )

I've annoyed with B, but it usually magically dissipates really quickly. It's a little odd -- he can almost do no wrong (in my eyes ;)). And he has GI issues, so I have had to clean up some messes.

But my cats...ugh. There were actually times when I put them in a room with a litter box and food and water so I didn't have to deal with them. For short periods of time, but still.

That's how I am with Daisy... I'm totally not like that with the rest of them, though... it makes me feel guilty :( I love them all, and for different reasons because they're ALL so different... but Daisy has my heart, first and foremost. She could like crap on the floor in front of me and I'd be like "EERIE, WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!" ;)

I can't say that I've ever hated my dogs. I have however hated some of the things that they have done though.
