A while ago Skye growled at my son. It is the only time she's ever done that and I reprimanded my son for jumping on her. My friend was horrified and I tried to explain to her that I would prefer to hear a growl than no sound at all followed by a snap.

I've written an article based on this experience for my website. I am aware of the seriousness of this issue and do not want to give the impression that a growling dog is fine around children, just that a growling dog is not necesarily bad around kids and that reprimanding the dog for expressing its irritation is not a good thing at all.

I'm not sure if I've got the point across clearly. I would hate someone not to seek help when appropriate because of this article.

Would anyone volunteer to look over it for me and give me some pointers?
