you wont see any significant change in our lifetime, however I speculate in a few generations it will change, but hey, I cant stop it, and I will be dead by that point so *shrugs*

Globle Warming is NOT happening In our science book, if you look at the difference in the temp over the years there is not that much difference. Really JMHO
Frankly, I don't even think there is a question if global warming is happening or not. It's happening all right, polar ice caps are melting and there HAS been significant climate changes. The real question is if humans are the main cause, or if the changes in climate are natural and inevitable. I believe society is causing global warming and politicians should stop turning a blind eye.

cows are the problem ;)

The methane in their... "gas" is a bigger cause of polution and ozone deterioration than anything else.

The Day After Tomorrow is one of my favorite movies. Though extreme, I think certain aspects of it are realistic.

Just yesterday while I was driving, the radio stated that we had another record breaking temperature day. It also stated that scientists are saying that 2007 will be the warmest year EVER.

I work at a vet clinic, and I can tell you that this fall/winter has been much worse so far as fleas are concerned because of the warmer temperatures.

I was in Michigan over New Years visiting one of my best friends. Her father own 300+ acres of apple orchards. That's his business. He told me that because the winter has been so warm, that the trees aren't "going to sleep" like they are supposed to. He is worrying about how this will affect the next growing season. He also stated that if it continues to be warm, the sap (which normally drains down from the trunks/branches of the trees in the winter) might rise back up. And if that occurs, and suddenly they get the weather they're supposed to have (cold, snow) - the sap will freeze and kill the trees.

I've always been aware of global warming, but the story about the apples and how it affects them was another huge eye opener. I never thought of that. Global warming affects so many things that you might not even think of right off the top of your head.

Just a thought that ever since the Tsunami in Asia a few years ago the weather patterns have gotten even more strange than ever before....Hurricane Katrina amongst other strong hurricanes, snow in places that haven't seen snow in years and years, and warmth in areas who aren't supposed to be warm like in New England where I live. 70 degrees today in January c'mon that is just not normal, in Florida maybe but not here. I don't see palm trees out in front of my house....

The earth goes through cycles of warming and cooling naturally, but we accelerate the process. One of the largest offenders to the ozone are space launches, all that rocket fuel disturbing the ionosphere. We've more than tripled the pollution rate with recycling. Now there are 2 trucks running instead of one, and the processing plants add how much????

Think of Mother Earth as a dog and we are the flies that bother her. Every once in a while she'll give a big shake to reduce the amount of pests on her skin. The more pests that land, the more often she'll shake.

Extreme weather systems are a kind of population control. I know that doesn't help the victims any, but its all about balance. If we can't balance it ourselves, Mother Earth will.

JMO;)

P.S....you want to read some interesting stuff about the weather? Google HAARP.

:hail: :hail:

That's EXACTLY what I think! Is the climate changing? Yes. But are humans really responsible for it? That, I'm unsure of. The planet's climate has periodically undergone massive climate changes. Just because the weather's changing doesn't mean we're doing anything wrong.

I'm not saying that human-caused global warming is impossible or untrue. I just haven't seen any *direct* evidence supporting that idea.

And as for the current warm spell, I do blame El Nino. There's no way that global warming on that scale would suddenly happen overnight.

I couldn't agree warm.

It's the news that is causing all these alarmists.

Global warming could very well be true but what exactly is it you want "politicians" to do about it? Do you have a plan?

We don't even know what the REAL cause of it is.

And YES it hasn't gotten warmer and warmer as years go on. Last year we had snow the entire winter from November to March. it wouldnt suddenly change.

London, Ontario has already had a 3 ft snowfall in 36 hours.

Brrr. Apparently global warming is now over. I think the temperature has dropped 30 degrees in the last 24 hours. It was nice while it lasted....

You are already seeing it.......Take a look at the web-site I provided if you want to see evidence.

Global warming is slowly taking place. Humans have probably made it happen more quickly than it would have, but by how much is up for debate.

The weather here has been rainy and kind of cold.

Whether it's pollution, natural or pixies, it's happening, and we need to take NOTICE.

Poor POOR attitude.

I can quote futurama for this one..

Leela: Should we really be celebrating? I mean, what if the second garbage ball returns to Earth like the first one did?
Fry: Who cares? That won't be for hundreds of years.
Farnsworth: Exactly! It's none of our concern.
Fry: That's the 20th century spirit!

Please bring it on! I just made a water haul and in the 30 minutes it took me to get to town the valves were all frozen open. The hose couldnt make connection because of the ice build up until I could run water over it. Then by the time I got it home the valves were all frozen shut. I can use a break from the sub zero mornings it seems like this cold spell has lasted two months.

Aw give the guy a break. Unless you are running your computer on solar panels or wind mills you are contributing to the planets polution. If you are like me, you are using public service provided electricity which comes from the mining and burning of coal which is absolutly destructive and filthy for the enviroment.

Meh - whatever.

I never said I was perfect.

Nor did I say - it's not my problem I'll be dead anyway... Pah.
