Anyone with any suggestions or comments , feel free ... I would just like some input on GSD's . I currently got a female ( now 13 weeks ) SO CUTE .. Are they intelligent like the normal coloured? And should I do anything to MAKE SURE its tame.

I will be taking it into Obidience classes for her and myself.

Did you do any breed research before you bought a GSD?

Coat color is not related to intelligence.

Obedience classes from a GOOD trainer/club are a must for large, athletic dogs, IMO.

I agree with the above post,,

I have/had GSD's "forever", grew up with them and always had a housefull. Right now I'm down to one, Masi who is 19mths old.

Yes , i did . The one book is just called , German shepherds ( popular dog series ) But really , it doesn't tell you much.

I agree with "socialize, socialize, socialize and obedience class, obedience class, obedience class." LOL. There is no better advice. Be sure to research the trainer you use and don't let anyone tell you you have to yank your dog around with a choke collar. Find a good trainer who uses motivation and reward, who knows behavior.

Sounds good ! thank you Dober . There is a ladie down the road i talked to yesterday , she has 4 dogs , a golden retreiver , a BC , a white GSD and a pug . All of them walk without a leash , right in order in front of these people . With the White GSD behind them . I asked her if she took hers to obidience and she said "yep! i could give you the trainers info if you would like to contact him " . So i may do that , knowing someone has preferred him.
