Once again I love my little Omni because it is awsome on gas. And nowadays around here the price goes up to $3.00 and gallon  . Now im not sure if this is a good or a bad thing but the higher gas prices definatly keep new drivers from cruising all over town. I remember when I got my licsense I pretty much already knew I wouldn't be running around us much as I would like to. Mainly because I promised myself I wanted to save money and gas prices were already high and so I just drove to work, school, and some friends. Now that im a bit more stable with my money I take the 6 hour trip down to my dads and back once a month.

My other friend Katelyn one of my few highschool friends is the same way. She hates to go out or go too far if she doesent have to. Not saying we don't drive to the store or movies which is close by but im talking hour or more trips all over. Her sisters friend Chelse just got her licsense and is driving everyone around everywhere. We both figure it will eventually hit her that she has no money to do anything else but pay for gas at the rate she is going. But I guess everyone has got to learn somehow.

I know if I take someone somewhere that is pretty far away I ask for them to help out on gas money. And everyone does because everyone knows how crappy gas prices are.

I don't know I just realized that today. Cars for teens used to symbolize freedom and now it just symbolizes a drain of money. No fun!!!

87 is about $2.67 right now. Im no teen or student and I really dont drive much but that hurts. With rafting season and now offroading coming up its gonna get pricey.

One reason I'm planning on a motorcycle.

Even the crappiest motorcycles get at LEAST 50 mpg.

That and they're a lot more fun to drive.

What irks me is it's not bothering people.

Well it is but people are still going "Gas was just $2.40 down the street!"

Just last summer it was 2 bucks a gallon! And for a while it dropped as low as $1.80 then spiked up to $2.50.

The oil companies are making BILLIONS of dollars in profit. They're reporting record breaking profits!!

There's no REASON our gas prices NEED to be this high yet we all pay it. We have to pay it. And the companies know that.

I wonder what happend to regulation? It sure seems to have slackened as of lately.

i still ask for gas money when i'm with my friends, but i don't need to ask as much as they have to ask for when they drive.

ok, so i may be saying this cause i dont actually have to pay for my gas...not to say that i am not careful about it!! I really try to not slam on my accelerator, and drive when i dont have to anymore. My car gets used like twice a month to get groceries, and then every other month or two to drive home...

but anyways...our supply is seriously dwindling...we cant keep using as much as we have been, or we WILL just run out. Not to mention the severe damage we are doing to the environment :(

I am not some huge environmentalist or anything...i defiantely have driven many many times to places i can very easily walk, but just dont feel like it cause its too cold, or too rainy, etc....

But in the long run, the high prices may do some good. People really should dump thier gas guzzlers, and look into much more energy efficient cars. Not to mention the obesity issue...hopefully some people will opt to walk rather than drive more often...

but yes, high prices suck

Right now, around my area, it's up to $2.84 a gallon...Driving back and forth to school 5 days a week (80 miles a day - on average 2 tanks a week) drains the wallet fast...

Id pick high gas prices to fill my car than ride a motorcycle anyday.

Karen how many of those people have road rash on their bodies? How many have a split open head/concussion?

A lot of motorcycle deaths are because people don't wear their gear and dont' have proper training on the motorcycle.

Also it's because people quite simply don't look out for motorcyclists. Consistantly people are always pulling out in front of them, making left turns right into the path, etc.
