Both of my ACD's currently measure at a small >27". Tulsa is 30-ish pounds and Rider is 45. If that helps.

Harlow is right on the edge, so I'm ordering a Large for her.

Yeah, all those feathers make him look thicker than he is. Haha. I got 25", and my mom got 24.5". Also, I thought he was 45lbs but on Monday the vet told me he's only 39lbs. Skinny minny.
Ok, I measured Hudson and obviously I have a terrible memory. He is the same size at Watson, measuring in at just under 25"

IME, unless your dog is riiiight on the edge, go with the size they tell you. My crew are around the same girth, but they are most comfortable in smalls, not mediums.

Harlow's backpack was a large, which is why I'm thinking that would be a good fit...

I was speaking more to earlier discussion of the dogs around 25" - the RW sizing is a bit odd, but not that far off ime.

I want this harness so bad. Sooooo bad. It's out of stock right now, though :(

SO and I made a deal. If I lose 5lbs, I get the harness. I don't think he knows what kind of flood gates he's opened up. :rofl1:

It's out of stock a lot of places, but you can find it if you look around. I ordered from REI (though they only had two colors in stock).

I also ended up ordering both sizes, since I won't get to try it on him until they day we leave for a long weekend trip, and I wanted to use it on the trip. I missed out on free shipping because I didn't order them together, but the person at REI waived the second shipping fee at least. So excited for it to arrive!

I ordered Stan the small. That's the pack size he wears.

I ordered the harness over a week ago and thanks to FedEx in Mayberry's ridiculous schedule I still don't have it.

For anyone who is interested, I ordered a small and a medium and ended up keeping the small. They both fit, but the small just fits a bit better. On the medium, the nylon/fabric areas were a bit bunched up and awkward, especially around his neck and shoulders.

ETA: He is 40lbs, 25" girth. He's a long dog, so I though the small would be way too small, but I adjusted the straps to a bit bigger than the halfway point and it fits well. On the medium they were all adjusted down about as small as they would go.

Thanks! How do you like it?

I want to see a picture of this harness on a hairy dog, I wanna know what it would look like on Merlin because I really like it.

I like it! The color is really pretty and it's easy to put on (even for my parents who always struggled with his other harness). I'm also using it in the car because his car harness was poorly made and always needed to be tightened.

I have a hairy dog! I'll see if I can take a picture tonight. I was worried that it would look ridiculous with his long chest feathers, but it actually looks ok. The rest of him isn't nearly as hairy as Merlin though.

I like... really want to try this harness a lot but don't know if I'd actually end up liking it on Jackson or not. It just seems like a little much for him. I'd likely only end up using it while truly hiking so it probably isn't worth it, but I really want to try it. Hmph. lol.

He'd be an XS according to measurements. His girth is 19".
