lol SO my dad had a jobsite he needed to go look at, so we all drove over to look at it. It was in a state park. I wish I had my regular camera instead of my cell phone becuase I want to take pictures, it was pretty and creepy all at the same time.
For instance, there is this long fence that on every post there is a shoe (some ice skates, some boots, even flipflops)... It's a small town practically in the middle of no-where... only has one gas station that is family owned... lol

anyways.. I had my dad pull over so I could jump out and take a picture of the shoes on the fence... I was standing there when a car comes so I decided to try and move closer to the fence to give them more room...

well... uhmmm yeah the snow made it look like level ground when in reality the ground dropped off to the ditch. I put my foot down and there was nothing there so I fell into the ditch... chest deep in snow.... lol...
My mom said I looked VERY gracefull while falling though...
I was laughing sooo hard the entire way back home.

Im uploading pictures from my cell phone now.

Snowey trees

There is a creepy story about this place... the there is a huge cliff there and it is said that the indians usd to run buffalo off of it and then go down and skin them for food... apparently the place was full of buffalo bones at one time

Boneyard Hollow

This is the picture that I took as I was falling into the ditch.... I gave up on the shoes picture as I plan to go back with my regular camera

Cool pics, they do look a little creepy. I wouldn't be surprised if they ran Buffalo off the cliff out there. It was a pretty common way for them to kill them for food, tools and skins.

That description about the shoes on the fence . . . reminds me of that scene in Big Fish where he walks out of the creepy forest and into the creepier town where all the shoes are hanging on a wire across the street.

Where is that at? It kind of reminds me of a place we would go to on a school field trip. Even though I don't think I have ever been there.

Ya know, you do it so often and know us all so well, that should be your theme song, Renee.

Farmers around my parents' house put shoes on top of fence posts as well.

Maya....how long have you lived in Iowa?? NEVER assume there isn't a ditch around a field/pasture, LOL!:D

(Although I'll admit, I've fallen in too, assuming there was something solid underneath LOL!:rofl1:)
