Does anyone know much about these? I would like to get one, but don't know much about exercise equipment.

I am trying to find a used one on craigslist, but haven't had any luck so far. I am planning to post a wanted add, but wondering how much would be reasonable to pay for a used one?

I am looking at Sears.com and it looks like the cheapest new ones are around 250-300. But my sister said that when buying exercise equip, you shouldn't just go with the cheaper one. But I don't really want to pay much more than that.

I also don't know what are good brands, etc...so if you have any recommendations and can tell me what to look for if I find a used one, that would be great!

Mine is an Edge, was about $250 or so, and that brand is considered a "throw away" brand - however, I've had it for probably three years. Yeah, every now and then a little superficial part will pop off, but it's still working well, and it's stuff like the plastic cap on one of the legs that will pop off so I can just stick it back on.

I'd honestly suggest getting a cheapie one for a while anyway to see how you like the workout. If you're really into it, you can always upgrade to a higher end machine later, IMO. I would hate to dish out a grand on a piece of equipment and then have it sit there because I don't like working out on it...

Mine is an Image. Definitely one of the cheaper ones: it creaks when I use it, and though it offers resistance it doesn't offer incline. I traded my water cooler for it. LOL! Best trade I ever made, though. It still works.

I fav is DEFINITELY Precor, but I couldn't afford one even if I stopped eating for two months.

I have a Gazelle...it's about a year old and still works perfect with a LOT of use. It was $100...lol, so cheap.

I think that your craigslist idea is what I would do.. that or yard sale/flea market.. It seems like so much exercise equipment is available on the resale market.

Does anyone know about this model Nordic trac CX 938?

I found a used one on craigslist. It says it only has about 35 miles on it. The asking price is 350.
