I am new to the forum, & I'm curious as to who all has Dobes.

Currently, I am owned by Bevo. He is a 4 year old, black/tan, neutered male, & he is an absolute doll. We are competitive in obedience, & have just started rally-o. We are doing WAE in late October. I try to keep him busy!

As of Wednesday, I am the proud foster of a 3-4 year old, blue/tan, female. She is still nameless at the moment, & while she is proving to be a challenge, I'm enjoying every second of it.

Tell me about your Dobes, I'm always happy to talk dobe!

Former Dobe owner here. I had a 75 pound female with one flop ear. She came to me in emaciated condition after an ACO picked her up as a stray. But, she blossomed into the best marshmallow velcro dog you could ever imagine. She's been gone now for over 20 years and I still miss her like it was yesterday. :(

Heya! I have Maya who is a black and rust... She has definatly been an adventure... her ear crop was botched and so her ears looked horrible. Plus the vet posted them wrong so they looked horrible..

But thanks to Sizzledog we got her ears straightened out.
Maya is also really small for a dobe... standing at about 24 inches and weighing about 50-55 pounds... at 9 months old, she is tiny...

Here is a recent photo to show the improvement of her ears.. (THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH SIZZLE!!!!!!)

Anne, I completely understand. Bevo is my first dobe, & he is my heart dog. He just always knows exactly what I expect of him. I can't imagine my life without him.

Maya's mom (I don't know your name yet) Your girl is gorgeous. Even in the first piccie with the botched ear crop, she is adorable. The second pic shows just how expressive her face is.

I have a 9 year old blk/tan male named Winston. We adopted him in March of 2005. He's not technically mine, he's my mom's/the family dog, but he's a wonderful boy. I absolutely adore him and if ever I want a short coated breed again, another Dobe would be one of my first choices. I'd love a red someday especially.

This picture isn't really recent (taken earlier this year) but it's one of my favourites of him:

OMG Winston is stunning!!! I'm in love with his distinguished looking grey muzzle.

Here is a pic of Bevo with one of my other dogs, Shooter. This was taken yesterday.

Bevo, you're everywhere :)

I've got two dobes, soon to hopefully be three.

I currently have Rah, an almost 2.5 year old blue male I adopted from rescue.

I'm training him in competitive obedience, we do rally for fun, and we dabble in schutzhund but I don't have the time to do it fully.

I also have Tyler, a 10.5-11 year old blue cropped male I pulled from a shelter earlier this year who surprise surprise isn't going anywhere...

I've had two others in the past - Bowie, my first, a black natural eared male that I adopted, ended up being my first competition dog but didn't go far due to many health issues (DCM, cancer and a herniated disk), and Willow, a black cropped bitch I adopted from rescue that I had only 8 months before I lost her to cancer.

Hopefully there is a pup in the near future, I'm praying for a black bitch :)

Kim, I swear that I'm not following you!!!

With all of the turmoil at my usual forum, I've been trying places out. Strangely, it appears as if you are a member of all three of the places that I've tried.

Rah looks like he's a firecracker. I bet that he's a blast. I love Tyler's soulful eyes.

My dobe mix, Taz, was my heart dog. He was wonderful. I think maybe he was mixed with GSD, and he weighed about 110 lbs.

And he had a dachshund friend, also :D What is it about Dobes and Doxies?

*Edited to Add** I almost forgot-- I'm also fostering an 11 week old Doberman mix at the moment...

WOW :yikes: I can't believe how many dobe owners are here!!!

JennSLK- We haven't dabbled in agility, but obedience is great. I'm sure that you will have a blast.

Harmony & Asher are beautiful. I love the look on Asher's face. He appears to be questioning if you are after his toy!!

Taz was a very pretty boy.

I *think* the thing with dobes & doxies has something to do with the doxie's big dog attitude. Bevo adores both of my doxies!

I'm a newbie here. I've owned dobermans for close to 20 years now. Just down to 2 right now: a champion bitch, Razzle, and a neutered red male, Rush.
