I agree on research... Here in Reno, we have "swamp coolers" instead of air cond. Of course some newer houses have central air, but a lot have swamp coolers. I have never heard of them before I moved here. They look like huge outside air cond. Anyway, there was a thread on another formum about birds (since birds/parrots have very sensitive resp. systems). Anyway, there was a thread about the "filters" that were causing parrots to die. TOTAL LIE, I contacted the company and spoke to a rep. who was "right on it." I didn't understand how it would have affected the parrots anyway (I have several), but I was still concerned. Unless there is research and proof, the person stating this could be held libel. As for the air filters and parrots, the BIG thing was it was producing formaldihide, which common sence told me that was not right, so while everyone was freaking out, I contacted the company and manufacturer. Turned out to be soooo false. I am not saying this topic is, but as the above post stated, make sure it's not a fluke or rumor, and do the research.
Also, why would a floor cleaner have anti-freeze in it? Unless your floor sometimes freezes. Now, I am not being rude, these days you never know what is in some stuff. I have to watch the candles I buy... Can't have certain wicks because of my parrots....but, a floor cleaner and anti-freeze, i doubt it, but I will check into it. If you have a lot of animals "Simple Green" is great, and non toxic. If you really want to clean and don't have your animals around for a moment you can also mix it with bleach for a clean smelling, dis. clean. You won't get the ammonia/bleach reaction, just a good cleaning agent. I love Simple Green.

QUOTE: CAUTION: if product contacts eye, rinse throughly with water. If swallowed, dringk a glass of water to dilute. Keep out of reach of children. (Of course)
NOTE: Murphy Oil Soap should not be used on unfinished, unslealed or waxed wood surface because they may be water sensitive. Test an inconspicious area with plain water before use. For wood surfaces, remove axess liquid with a soft cloth. Disoloration or dulling indicates the wood may be waxed or needs refinishing.
No.... there is no "ingredients" but because it's for wood use, most animals and children are not going to "lick" or "eat" the liquid, unlike, paint with lead. So, I just assume there hasn't been any incidents..yet. I think it's pretty safe. I just quoted the bottle... surprising in this day and age there is no "info" on the ingredients. ?????

JUST SAW THE FRONT OF THE BOTTLE>>>>> IT STATES IT'S PURE VEG. OIL. (weird???)

Murphy Oil has been out for years before any chemicals were even thought of. My Dad used it in the 30s for his gun handles and leathers... and I went back to it in the 50s for everything! I buy it by the gallon and use it for any cleaning. I hate to work in gloves and it makes my hands soft too!

Use Murphy Oil soap and have no worries.

My favorite cleaner for almost everything. Dusting furniture, washing walls, washing floors.

Hey you horse showers, murphy's oil does a beautiful job cleaning leather and it helps add moisture to it so that your bridle or saddle leather does not crack. I use to use it on all my leather halters. :D

I always worry about using anything with warning labels on my floor. My pets do walk there and then lick their paws... Or eat off it if they spill...

Ok im dont know if this is true i just received this by e-mail from a friend...i dont even use the swifer jet..i clean my floors with white vinegar and water..always have>>>but i thought this might help someone else but it might be a hokes...i dont have the product to read the warnings...but this is the e-mail i receved>>>you can read it and swee what you think>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> If you have pets, please read this or send to family
members.
I recently had a neighbor who had their 5-year old
German
shepherd dog put down due to

liver failure.
The dog was completely healthy until a few weeks
ago.
They had a necropsy done to see what the cause was.
The liver
levels were unbelievable, as if the dog had ingested
poison of some kind.
The dog is kept inside, and when he's outside, someone's
with
him, so the idea of him getting into something unknown
was hard to
believe.
My neighbor started going through all the items in
the house
When he got to the Swiffer Wetjet, he noticed, in
very tiny
print, a warning which stated "may be harmful
to small children
and animals."
He cal! led the company to ask what the contents
of the
cleaning agent are and was astounded to find out that
antifreeze
is one of the ingredients.
Actually he was told it's a compound which is one
molecule
away
from antifreeze).
Therefore, just by the dog walking on the floor cleaned
with the solution, then licking its own paws, it ingested
enough
of the solution to destroy its liver.
Soon after his dog's death, his housekeepers' two
cats also
died of liver failure.
They both used the Swiffer Wetjet for quick cleanups
on their
floors.
Necropsies weren't done on the cats, so they couldn't
file a
lawsuit, but he asked that we spread the word to as
many people as
possible.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT OWN A PET PLEASE FORWARD THIS
ON!

Today I went to the store and looked at the Murphy's Oil. Isn't it supposed to be for wood floors? All the ones that I looked at, including 'original,' said clearly that they weren't for wood floors. AND they had poisonous labels on them.

BUT I found at the same store a bulk cleaner that uses tea tree oil and doesn't have any warning labels. I think I'm going to buy that.
