One thing that I do with Addi is divert her attention and then give her one of her toys to let her know what she can chew on and what she can't. It does not work the first time. I have had to do this several times already, but I think she is beginning to understand.

Dogs shed and you can't stop that. And according to breed the shedding varies. The best you can do is keep your dog brushed. They have alot of new brushes out there that can really help control the fur flying.

I agree with Lucille. Also, constant supervision is needed with puppys. If he has gone to this extent, I would say he needs more supervision. You might want to keep him confined to a puppy proof room or area if you are not able to keep your eyeballs on him. Giving a puppy full reign of the house without your supervision is asking for items to be chewed on and destroyed. He has no idea what is right or wrong. He just wants to chew. Make sure he has plenty of toys, bones etc to chew on.
