I am thinking of switching my 5 month old coton puppy from Innova puppy food, to the Innova Evo. At what age should I do this? Since it is the same brand food, do you have to switch slowly (over a few days or more?) or just switch cold turkey? Her stools on the Innova puppy food are usually pretty solid, and about twice a day; will the Evo make her have loose more frequent movements? Thanks for your help

you can switch a puppy to a good quality adult food at any time, since puppy food isn't really necessary.

if your dog isn't prone to divestive upsets, you don't need a long switching-over period, but since the evo is so completely different from any other product on the market (grain free, high-protein), i'd switch over the course of about 3-4 meals.

all dogs are different, but generally speaking you should not see looser or more frequent stools, since the food is more digestible overall. on the contrary, you might see that the stool is a little harder.

either way, keeping a can of pumpkin (pure pumpkin, not the spiced pie filling premix) on hand would be a good idea since it helps both ways.

I switched my puppies over to an all life stages formula of Eagle Pack and they really had no problems with switching. The thing my dogs have problems with is canned dog food. I did do it gradually over a few days though and I don't think they noticed one little bit.
