I dropped my phone at work the other day and the dogs ate it. :( So now I have to buy a new one and I'm completely clueless.

I'm on a family plan with my parents, so I'd prefer to stay on that plan. But last year when I dropped my phone in the dogs' pool at work and had to buy this new one, I ended up buying a refirbished phone from the AT&T store, and still paid over $120 for it. :yikes: I'd really like to keep it under $100.

Because the other thing is, I don't want/need anything fancy.... I rarely even text message and the family plan doesn't come with any data or anything so that will be super expensive to add on. I just literally want a phone that sends and receives phone calls. How hard can that be???

Suggestions?? I don't even really know how to start looking. Worst case, I'll just go back to the AT&T store and see if they have any refirbished phones, but I wasn't particularly happy last time I did that so I'd rather see what my other options are.

Help!!

If you just want a basic why don't you go to Walmart buy an AT&T pay as you go and put your sim card in it?

I used to have one, but the family plan is actually cheaper. My portion is only $15 a month, but I would use $20-$30 worth of minutes if I did the pay as you go thing.

I've bought several replacement phones on ebay and been pleased.
Great, I'll check it out. Thanks!

Well you don't use the plan you just buy the phone and pull out the SIM card for the phone and put yours in there.

Hmm, I asked my friend if I could do that and she said no. I'll look into it.
What AT&T phone do you have? I know you can't on iPhone because theirs is internal and different or something like that. But for the others where you have access it it when you remove the battery cover you should be able to change them out.

My brother just did it because he's not to the point of getting a free phone yet.
