He's adjusting well to us. He runs all over the house causing all kinds of ruckas. Lola for the most part has accepted him. But for some reason.... Lola is trying to hump him every chance she gets. He stands there and lets her do it for a bit and then he'll get mad and growl and snap at her to make her stop.

They play together pretty well for the most part. There's a little bit of possession issues when it comes to the toys and food. But we'll have to work on that.

Boomer is peeing outside without too much trouble. But he won't poop outside  He has no trouble pooping in the house  And let me tell you... his poop is soooo foul smelling from all the trash and who knows what else he was forced to eat when he was thrown out in the cold to fend for himself. When we first brought him in TJ caught him pooping in the house and immediately eating his poop before TJ even had a chance to get something to clean it up with. It was real runny and gross.. now it's getting firm.

I am going to take Lola for her check up next week and Boomer will go for a check up and his puppy shots because I'm sure he never got checked at a vet since he's been born.

He has those razor sharp puppy teeth. I forgot how much those hurt when they are playing around and snag you with them :yikes: I'm still amazed at how big he is knowing he's probably not over 12 weeks old.

Glad to hear Boomer's doing well! :D

The humping is a little ritual that a lot of dogs do upon meeting another dog - especially if it's on thier "home turf". Dakota does this occasionally for a few days until the new guy knows that he's in charge  (hey, it seems effective. Wonder if we'll be seeing Cesar suggest that people mount their dogs to establish dominance?)

I'm glad he's settling in! I must have missed something somewhere, are you going to keep him?

TJ really wants to keep him. I am the one with the mixed feelings. I just don't know if I want the responsibility of another puppy again. But Boomer needs a chance at a happy life, and I'm sure we can provide that for him. So.... I guess Boomer stays.

I just wish he'd stop eating his poop. He does it so fast.... one minute he's playing on the floor and horsing around and a second later you smell this horrendous odor and look down and there he is woofing down his own turds :yikes:

Then you get to smell it again in a little while as he vomits partially digested fecal matter all over the floor in front of you. And if you can't snatch him away fast enough... he'll eat his fecal vomit too.

I wonder if he does this because he was desperate for something to eat when he was out on his own. I don't know... but he better quit doing that or I'm gonna start hurling.
