Are Joint and Plain Bones from a cow okay? Personally I've never heard of them, but were getting a "half cow" and, uhm I can get any bones/organ meats for free.

All cow bones are okay. Lui gets beef bones all the time and it doesn't matter what sort they are, it's a big mix of beef bones and he loves them.

Hmm, I don't let my guys have any weight bearing bones from larger animals, heard too many stories of dogs breaking teeth. I do let them eat the meat off of the bones and then take the bone away before they try and eat the bone though.

Hmm, I've never had any problems so far and I've fed: Leg Quarters, Turkey Wings, Rib Meat Bones, and Soup Bones.
I'm getting 35lb of bones and 6lb of organ meat.

Yep I agree,........no weight bearing bones in this house either.

However, I also tend not to feed beef either. Having a Malamute, Northern Breeds do best without much beef, they do thrive on chicken pork & fish.

Also becareful with Knuckle bones, they should not be fed as a meal...They are fine for the occasional recreational chew, but not as a meal...

Knuckle contains marrow and if this is eaten in large amounts it can cause the dog too have loose stools.

Oh, yes I wouldn't feed Knuckle bones as a meal. I'm not even feeding purely raw, hehe. They have kibble 24/7 -parent's wishes, for some reason they think the dogs will starve without food all the time.

Nor have I, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, I've seen a lot of stories come across the rawfeeding list that I'm on about broken/cracked teeth due to feeding them.

Leg quarters from what, chickens? I do feed weight bearing bones from small animals, just not large animals, too dense for me. Wings and ribs aren't weight bearing bones and I don't feed soup bones at all.

Hannah had been given beef neck bones/beef ribs and she never had a problem. She never ate, or tried to eat the bones though. She'd eat any other bone except for beef (and lamb). She would strip every last bit of meat and clean the bones really good and then just leave them.
