what does it mean if my dog barks at me when I bark at him. Is it just playing

If your making a "Barking" sound at him then i would assume that he is playing or "Talking" to you

Usually it's just them "talking" back to you though.

How did you bark at him? Playful or aggressive? Dogs have different sounding barks, which mean different things. Maybe he took your playful bark wrong??

When you bark at a dog they usually think you are playing, which I assume you were unless you were trying to tell him something (if so I dont think you should tell us).

I would not worry about it, we do it to my dog and she barks and is the sweetest dog ever....
