Ok another question not related to attention, but just about obedience. If we fail on our individual exercises (which is extremely likely :p) do we still go in for the group stays? Our first trial a dog NQ'd on the stand for exam, and then didn't do the stays. Then a dog got up on his long sit, and the judge had him leave and not do the long down. I always thought you stayed through for all of it unless the dog like snapped at the judge or something.

Yes, you do have to go in for the stays.

It's not uncommon for judges to excuse a dog from the ring if he breaks the long sit, in order to prevent him from interfering with the other dogs during the down. Kinda depends on the situation and the judge.

I did once get permission to not do the long stays after Ares NQ'd, but he was looking a bit unsound from a funky landing over the high jump which is why I asked to be excused in the first place.

Ughh. So she did pretty good with paying attention to me, and when shee lost focus, she quickly caught up and did good. Still lots of room for improvement though. But for some reason she didn't do her recall! This is the first time she has not done it. I said it loud, not sure what happened. Then of course, I call her again and she does it really good :(
