loosing a loved one to cancer at such a young age is very devestating
I lost my Nikki at 4 to bowel cancer, I swore that was it - my heart could not take another loss. I was dogless for over a month, deeply depressed
a part of me had died along with her.

I eventually got myself another dog, I started smiling again
I will never forget my Nikki, she is in a special place in my heart forever. Nikki would want me happy
and Chase would want you happy too

when it is right, it's just right. If not, wait until it is
you worded that really well. :)

i think there's always some dog out there meant to come into your life at some point, and you will know it's right.

You guys are right, it IS always forever and yet the memories are as fresh as yesterday. I can still find myself crying my first dog, Mickey, that I got as a pup when I was not-quite four years old.

Buffy is the one that really hurts, though. She was just a couple of months past her second birthday (born on Valentine's Day) when she died of a neighbor's poisoning.

But I look at Kharma, and I know that Buffy approves - shoot, she undoubtedly picked her out, especially for Bimmer, who was the love of her life and she of his.

Just keep your heart open and Chase will nudge the right dog in your direction. After all, he loves you and wouldn't it make Chase terribly unhappy if you were miserable?

I only wish Kobe's new Mom would post here !! She wasn't ready to accept another dog until I e-mailed her about Kobe. Yes, she'll always have her Lab, her heart dog, in her heart, but Kobe has fiilled in beautifully !!! We all feel that Fergus sent him to her.
