that I accept strays.

I found this pipsqueak under my house along with an as of yet uncaught sibling (at least one). I have a friend who just may be interested. We shall see. Until then I'm thinking Squeaker works pretty well for her name. I lurves her and her pretty blue/gray eyes. :D

Oh , I guess I should ask some questions being that I'm not really a "cat" person (I'm sort of allergic:( ) I'm not quite sure what to do with them until I can find good homes. Will a large box hold them while they are this little? I don't really want her roaming since she's so small and could get caught behind something. Also, what to feed? Just kitten chow? She's pretty small but I think eats solid food. (I left some fish jerky out to lure them and she has fishy breath) She really is too cute, and her sibling is just as cute, a little black and white baby. I also saw an older looking young cat that *may* be the momma. I don't think she'll let herself get caught though.

usually a bathroom or something is fine for her to live in
as far as keeping her tho, a box might be way to small.. and shed probably get out

all you really need is a bowl for food, some water and a cat litter box with litter

Get some toys (the little balls and such that are cheap), a litter box, and wet food (much, much healthier than dry food for the little carnivores). I agree that a box would not work out, a small room like a bathroom would be ideal.

hrm. off to the store it is then. I have no idea how the dogs are going to respond to this. ZOMG she fell asleep in my lap *squee* . okay back to normal.

My friend doesn't want her. Now what? Anyone want a cat or two? Why do I do this?

Yep, Canned food and a bathroom would be best..Gourgous kitty..hmm, Still has her blue eyes, but you can tell there changing.. Any chance of finding her momma? Maybe take her to a no kill shelter to get her spayed and adopted out.. You can get humane traps for momma at your local shelter (ussually) which im sure you probably already know;) If you cant find a momma you may be finding kittens around alot more often.

EDIT: You do this because you are an amazing person! Just think of how many people would have just turned a hose on the poor dear:( Thank you for taking her in.. She is a doll.. Wish i could take her, but distance and the fact that im not allowed to have a cat could be a huge factor.. lol.

I don't think we have a no kill shelter. :( I think I'll just take my chances finding the others, then sealing up the space under the house. (They got in through some missing bricks. Doh. I guess if all else fails I can take them to the shelter. I have no idea what to do with a cat. Why my house lately huh? Why?!

I take it Shes friendly..Which means she is either less then 6 weeks old or was born in a home with humans..Is she cold? A big thing with kittens is they chill easily, Not knowing how old they are can be crappy... They may still be nursing, if momma cat is still around chances are, they arent weaned..And wouldnt be totally weaned until 7-8 weeks..If little one becomes chilled rub a tiny amount of corn syrup or honey inside its mouth to keep her stable..

EDIT: After thought.. Check her Gums, keep an eye on her breathing, and her stool, If its grey or white take her straight to a vet.. And i assume you checked for fleas, ticks ect.

she was actually quite scared of me (and everything else) but I just held her close and she curled up. She's not "tiny" per se , so I don't know that she's still on milk. I don't know if mama is around is the problem. It seems like they were just out wandering around by themselves, but what do I know? She likes the laptop (iz warm and cuddly she says ) and sniffs at fishy type food but hasn't acted like she was hungry or thirsty yet. Her belly is full looking but not wormy, just full.

Her mouth is all bright pink and healthy looking. No fleas or ticks that I could spot but I may just give her a bath to be sure. A friend is emailing her homeschool group as we speak to see if they're interested. Finding a good home vibes needed please :)

I wouldnt bathe her yet.. just in case..Kittens get chilled very very very easily, plus a bath would certainly stress her outIf you do keep a very close eye on her just in case she does get chilled.. If she does get chilled, warm her with your body heat (Cant use heating pad or a hot water bottle, Body heat ONLY) And do NOT feed a chilled Kitten, its intestines are stopped working in that time and it may become bloated.. Told you that just in case.. Dont wanna sound like a know it all or anything..

Again, thank you for taking her in .. your a kitty angel! :hail:

she's curled up on my lap in a dry towel next to the laptop . she's purring and cleaning herself so I think she'll be okay.
she's giving me kisses. I've never known a cat to do this! too cute. Maybe if she lets me bathe her and furminate her daily she can live here. :)

Great idea.. Actually, I know somebody who is SEVERLY allergic to cats and owns five, who live strictly indoors.. I think she will be fine as well, Looking at the picture again i think she may be older then i first suspected... Which leads me to beleive so was dumped..

Allergies can always be controled by mild medications and daily cleaning..

well she and the slightly larger one were under the house, so maybe mama was dumped but I think she was born around here. I don't really know but I suspect. You'd think with 3 dogs I'd be alerted to a cat on the premises.*shrugs*
Anyway, what matters now is she's safe and warm. I need to find the other one.

Looks like somebody has a new kitty ;) I assume you are sure it's a girl, any name ideas? If she doesn't eat by bedtime wipe a bit of wet food in her mouth, it's possible she hasn't had solids yet (or was just starting) so she might need a bit of help figuring it out. Adding some warm water to the wet could help her to eat it too. I'm surprised at how clean and healthy (no parasites, well fed, good color etc.) she is, mommy was doing a good job. Thank you for taking her in and remember all your Chaz friends are very willing to help you learn to care for a kitty. I hope you can get any other babies in your yard so they can have the chance at great homes and not at being feral breeders, road kill or animal food. If I was near you I'd let you borrow our have a heart traps, my uncle has a few.

Wellll if it has man parts I can't see them yet. *blushes*

Thank you for all the advice. She is resting comfortably on my lap right now. We went to the store and got some litter, kitty food and other kitty things. she hasn't eaten but I suspect it is more from stress then anything. She hasn't cried like she is hungry at all. She has a comfy bed in our spare bathroom, in the stall shower with glass doors she can't climb out of. That way if she misses the litterbox it'll just rinse down the drain . Tim isn't entirely sold on the idea yet but then, he isn't sold on many things until he just gets used to them . :) (case in point, having 4 dogs, even temporarily...)

I need to find the others. I don't know if I can mess with momma but atleast I can make sure she's out and seal up the part of our house she got under. Actually, the more I think about it, the older cat I saw was not too much bigger then this one. I can't begin to imagine how young it is and if it is even possible that it is their mama. In this neighborhood it is just as likely she was hit by a car :( Im just glad I could catch this one. I'm in love. Even if we only keep her for a little while, Im' glad to help her. she's soooo soft and cuddly warm. She's content to just curl up near my armpit and sleep. :)
