Hi Dizzy,
We are from North East England, South Shields. Have found it a lot easier than we thought it was going to be. Luckily we havent had bad homesickness etc that we thought we'd get.
Its hard at first as you are unfamiliar with everything and dont know anyone but eventually you will settle and can drive round without maps etc etc and its like home from home. Moving abroad isn't for everyone but I believe if you really want to make it work you can. The hardest thing is not having your family around you to rely on. Luckily My husband, kids and I have a very strong relationship which just becomes stronger when you leave everything behind.
If its what you want to do then make sure you research the are you are going to try fully before you take the plunge, we thought about it for years before finally applying for a visa...then thats when the waiting game begins and if your relationship can survive that then your off to a good start.
Hi Princess Puppies,
Where abouts in Australia are you? We are on the Gold Coast.
Thanks for the replies
Marie
