Okay since I'm getting a pap along with blood drawing they couldn't get me in til next Wednesday.
But they told me from the sound of my pains that it could be a kidney infection so to drink cranberry juice and if I was taking vitamins (which i'm not) to stop because it might be part of the problem.

So we'll see next week. :)

Really? I don't know how you handle that. Our clinic has a same day policy where if you call before 10 am they will fit you in to see YOUR doc the same day if it's urgent. Other then that it only takes a day or two for a 'regular' appointment. I wouldn't see a doc who took any longer. What if it was serious and they made you wait? And who decided it was a UTI? The receptionist???

My clinic has a walk in Sunday. I have never had to wait more than a day or two for an appt. Now the old clinic that let me get this sick with their dangable misdiagnosis and foul treatment would take at least a week if not more. For example...i was having horrible cramping in my feet and legs. I thought it was a vitimin def but i was taking supplements. I aske the doc about it and he said "your muscle relaxer should take care of that" ..well it didn't;..and it was osteosporosis. I lost an inch and a half before the new clinic saw me and the first thing the did was a bone scan. I am soooo glad I changed. I have to pay this clinic for the rest of my life at 20 dollars a month because there is a deductable but who cares. IT's worth every penny.

Cranberry juice is good but water and lots of it is better. I have a birth defect (double ureters) and am very prone to kidney infections. I have to have 10 glasses of water minimum a day. Too much acidy drinks, too long with out water and an infection is always the result.

Can you go in to one of those walk-in, no appointment, doc-in-a-box places to be tested for UTI? I would think if that's what it is, an antibiotic would have you feeling better pronto.......and, if they can do something simple and quick, it would be better than feeling bad and worrying for a week.

That's real good advice because you do not want a uti infection to get in there real good. IF i had to go a week without help i would be in deep trouble.

Don't get upset with me about it. I'm just going by what I was told.

The receptionist said it sounds like a UTI or a kidney infection, they just needed to make sure. Its a small doctor's office and I live in a small town.
I didn't call them til after 3pm and I've never been to this doctor.
As I just moved in with my grandma, my normal doctor is over an hour away and is moving offices this week to even further away.

I'm going to call the doctor in the town over tomorrow and see if they can get me in sooner because these lower cramping pains are about to make me pull my hair out.

Thanks everyone. :)

I'm not getting upset with you. I'm upset with your silly doctors and definitely with that receptionist. She's not qualified to give you advise/diagnose you over the phone. Our clinic has an after-hours walk in too. I hope you can find someone to take you. You shouldn't have to suffer for another week. That's ridiculous. I'd talk to your doctor to about how the receptionist gave you advice. I know it's small town and everything but that puts them at risk of a law-suit if it was something more serious and she brushed it off and made you wait.

Oh okay. I just thought you were mad at me. :)

And I totally agree with everything you said.

I had that foggy, green pee again this morning then everytime after I peed it was cloudy, yellow. That confuses me alittle bit.

No not at you. It just drives me nuts that they are brushing you off.

Have you been eating any different greens at all? I don't know what other than asparagus does it but I'm sure it's not the only culprit. Although it probably wouldn't have lasted this long.

Some of the pharmacies up here like CVS and Walgreens have clinics in them. I don't know if you have one close by, but just wanted to mention it, since I just found out about them myself a few weeks ago!

The only green food I've had to eat in the last 2 weeks is a green apple and that was last weekend.

No CVS, Walgreens, or anything like that around here has clinics in them. I checked online and none of them in a 60 mile radius has clinics.

The only gas I have it burping and that just started about 3 days ago.
The pain I'm have is like period cramps but 10xs worse and they literally make me double over in pain, period cramps don't even do that to me.

I'm going to storm in Wednesday b/c dad is going out of town til tomorrow night, but I will see if my aunt will take me.
I'll keep yall updated. :)

I'm really not sure but if your urine turns dark like cola, GO TO THE ER. Most likely you're fine and it's a UTI...maybe kidney stones?

Its not that dark. Just a foggy, green when I pee in the morning then the rest of the day its cloudy, yellow.

What are signs that I might have kidney stones?

I agree that you really should be seen by a doctor or nurse practioner ASAP - a week is far too long, and by that time the problem could be far worse than had it been treated promptly! If you have an UTI or kidney infection the sooner it is treated the better - for example, if it is only an UTI now, it could spread to your kidneys if you delay treatment.

I have had two UTIs in the past month (yuck), with symptoms very similar to what you described (but no green pee), and was able to call the clinic this morning and get an appointment for the afternoon. The doctor had me give a urine sample, quickly confirmed that I had an infection, and gave me a prescription for antibiotics. (She will also do a culture, which will take longer, to make sure the bacteria will respond to the antibiotics.) I think most doctors and nurses agree that a UTI is not a life threatening emergency, but it is definitely something that should be treated promptly.

I would recommend calling the doctor's office again (or email, if he/she has that), as well as searching for other clinics. You might even try calling the local hospital - sometimes they have patient advocates, and they might be able to recommend a clinic. If you want to PM me the town you are in I can try searching too.

As a side note, I saw that you are located in GA - I am there too, and was able to get my antibiotics for free from the Publix supermarket pharmacy. (I am not affiliated with it or anything, and when I asked the pharmacist why they were free, he said it is so they can compete with the other stores offering $4 prescriptions.)

Thanks. :)

Like I said I've never had an UTI, Kidney infection, kidney stones, or bladder infection.
I'm going to call around somemore tomorrow.

Where in GA are you located? I'm about 20-25 minutes from Newnan.

i woudl absolutly call around, if theres no other doctors local id call them back and tell them you ARE comming in today and will wait but you NEED to be seen by a dr today as the pain is excruciating and youre not willing to wait for this to get worse.

if they give you issues DEMAND to speak to the doctor themself, not the nurse, not the receptionsit, only the dr and keep calling back untill they say "fine come in we'll squeeze you in"

and dont settle for a quick look you up and down oh your fine drink water solution either.

if its a kidney or bladder infection it CAN get worse, same with kidney stones...
im the kind of person that HATES to impose, but when it comes to this stuff, ill be a ssqueeky as it takes to get to see a dr asap!
