Three years ago i had no intention of getting a Pitbull for a pet. Not because i thought they were aggressive but because I just did'nt NEED one in other words I used to only keep dogs if they earned their keep some how. Well One day I was going to go to the animal shelter with my sister because she was planning on adopting a puppy for her family. While we were there one dog caught my eye a year old Skinny blue and white male Pit. He was beautiful and layed in the back of his kennel looking at me with his head cocked to the side. When i whistles he wagged his tail very fast and ave me a doggy smile. After a while of crouching next to his cage and talking to him he came right up to me and smoshed himself next to the cage like ok pet me i love you and so i did and absolutly fell in love. I knew he was meant for me even though he was thin, had an eye infection, and had a thin coat from malnutrition he was perfect in my eyes. When i inquired about him with the women who worked at the Shelter she told me his name was Zeus and he was very shy and probley would not find a home. She also told me how Zeus was a abandonment case where he was left in a field with 12 other dogs and was fed very little and lived mostly off of feces and just did'nt do very well. I did'nt care i knew i wanted to take him home. And two weeks later after he was ready and healthy he came home to live with me in my home.
I have to admit i was a bit afraid i had already 3 dogs living in my hosue with me and i wondered how Zeus would do with them. And so I had my sister be with me and hold Zeus across across the street while i brought each dog over to Zeus and they actually got along ok and so that was a releif. Zeus was friendly but he was shy no question about itand would often retreat under the couch when we would have company over. I had adopted Zeus when he was 11 months old it took him until he was 2 to truly come out of his shell and become the happy go lucky dog i knew he could be. He especially grew to love my nephews as much as my other dogs especially the youngest Caleb who is now 2 years old with Zeus who is three gonna be 4 in a week . I never thought i would ever get a pitbull or two pitbulls at that but Zeus changed my world turned it completely upside down. He's gotten me through depression and social anxiety and he's just my angel.
