How do i sign up for events? I see the calendar but no premium for the event... I emailed the trial secretary but I feel like I'm missing something.

We used Onofrio but I thought they were just confo?

It's been so long. TDAA spoils me because I enter day of every time. And with USDAA I just hand it off to my trainer.

I did hear back from the trial secretary and she said I can register day of for the CAT.

But for future reference in general do you go through infodog for performance events? Agility would be what I'd be most curious about.

For the few AKC trials that I do, I find the event on the AKC calendar and ghen just google the host club. They have the premium on their site.

I always get the premium through the club, sometimes directly through the trial secretary (there are two main people who are trial secretary for a majority of the shows around here and they send out e-mails about what events are going on.) For example the premium for the Louisville agility trial:

Take it for what it's worth but I would use infodog. It's super easy to use and they store your dogs information making it easier after your first entry.

Ah ok. I guess emailing the secretary was the right way to do it.

I was just expecting an event calendar type thing like USDAA and TDAA have where they list shows and provide a link to the premium.

It doesn't seem like agility or any of the performance events we'd be entering (likely) are included on infodog. The only options I get once I put Hank's name in are either conformation shows, obedience and rally shows, or virtual shows.

I went to 'akc show entry' then put in Hanks reg number etc and it only gave me confo or obedience as the options to enter him? I don't see a search by state?

It used to be if you looked at the AKC event list, it would have a link to the premium if one was available, or at least the club website. I'm not sure if they've changed it now since they launched the new site.

I just checked and there's sometimes a link to the club site and sometimes not... that's kind of annoying.

I don't know if InfoDog does agility but it does charge a fee for entries. There are other trial secretaries who use online entry programs of their own design but they all have additional fees. Poor girl saves on the fees and fills out the paper premium. =P

InfoDog allows you to enter for performance. I haven't entered an agility trial, but they list them on their site and I've entered Rally through them. I do think they do agility differently though, since they are listed separately from Obedience and Rally, so it might not be through the main entry page.

A lot of the people recommending infodog and such don't do agility afaik...

In many areas of the country, including mine, AKC agility entries cannot be done online. You need to print out a premium (just the entry form page). These are usually found on host club or trial secretary's websites. You can print them out on AKC but usually have to fill in the club information if you do it that way.

I use the AKC event calendar's agility tab to search for trials and get trial dates, opening/closing dates, etc. Then print out the premiums from host website and mail in time for opening day.

Drives me nuts!

Ditto. I don't have words to describe how annoyed and frustrated I feel that AKC has an event search function and doesn't provide premiums with the event listing. STOOPID. I go to AKC to find the trials then have to google half a dozen other sites to track down the premium.

There are several other dog event search sites:
agilityevent.net
LabTestedOnline (prob my favorite because of the option to enter electronically)
Oak Lines Express Entries
Info Dog, as mentioned

AKC agility online entry at LabTestedOnline

A lot of the people recommending infodog and such don't do agility afaik...

In many areas of the country, including mine, AKC agility entries cannot be done online.
In the greater DC/Mid-Atlantic, LabTestedOnline is a wonderful resource for agility trials. You can find the events AND their premiums and several clubs will have online entry available. Love it!

Here in Northeast...the AKC agility trial premiums are offered on the trial secretaries' websites. You download the Premium in PDF form, fill it out and mail it in.

These are the ones that are the most prevalent here. PawPrint Trials is the biggest and most widespread:

http://www.pawprinttrials.com/

and then there's:

http://www.4pawrule.com/

Try looking for the trial secretary websites...that's where the premiums should be (and that goes for USDAA too.)
