So things have gone from bad to worse, to ok...

When we brought Buster in for a second time he wasn't better. The steroid injection did not work so they told us he needed surgery. Well the surgery would be 4,500 not county the anestesia and the rehap he would have to go through after the sugery. Quite frankly, because of Christmas and all, I don't have that kind of money right now. The vet said he would have NO chance of walking if he did not have the surgery. I needed a second oppinion so I took him to a vet that specialized in Dachshunds and told her that surgery was out of the question, I could not afford 4,500+ money. So we did some exrays and hes in physical therapy ever other day. He's already gaining feeling back into his feet! She did a test where she pinches his foot and he can feel it! he looks back ever time. He is better in feeling then our last visist and she said he has a 60% chance of ever walking again. I also went ahead and bought some material to make him a weelchair. My father and I will be working on it this weekend for him. We have another vet checkup Wenesday. Please keep praying he will do better, all prayers and thoughts are welcome. Thanks so much!

Sounds good , as long as there's no pain . I'm not faulting you , but I hope lurkers realize that taking on a pup could be mega bucks down the road ...Christmas or no Christmas . When we buy , we make a commitment .....

Grammy, I understand where your coming from but I cannot help but be irritated by your post. Yes we make a commitment. But 4,500 plus (like an extra 1,020 in the least) is alot of money. Could YOU afford that during Christmas? I cant. Not when I'm a single person who has to pay for alot of other things (Food, Gas money, car insurance, house payments, just to name a few) Surgery is not the only option. I have him in physical therapy, medication and injections. Thats taking responsibility. So I am doing the best I can and obviously he's getting better from it.

You should talk to Dena (Denaluvscorgis). Her Jackson Brown went through a similar experience. He's walking and playing now :)
Thank you Renee, I will contact her... Also, the vet said it was good he was feeling pain because it means he has feeling. The last vet checkup he couldn't feel pain and now he feels a deep pain which is good.
