Being exhausted could also, however, make him far more cranky!
I wouldn't take that advice, just stick to the normal exercise routine. It certainly does go by an individual dog...if he's bouncing off walls and unfocused before training sessions, some exercise might help, but if he comes back from a walk and wants nothing to do with you, that's obviously not a good idea.
