I just got back last night from helping to take care of the Doberman puppies, and wanted to post some of the couple hundred pictures I took. I will be going back once they get a bit bigger and are even more work, but I wanted to come home for a week or two since I haven't really been home for a while between all my house and dog-sitting these last couple months. Anyhow, here they are!

Red Stripe... who has a name, but I can't remember how to spell it (it's french for "the rust" or something like that):

Mr. Blue:

Ripley (my puppy) trying to wake his brother up..

Mr. Green:

Miss Purple:

Mr. Black:

Miss Pink:

Thanks everyone; Glad you all enjoyed them!

Ack cute!!!!!!

What are you going to do if Mr. Ripley is pet quality?
Take him anyway. Showing a Doberman would be fun, but if he doesn't turn out then that's ok. We'll do other things instead. I already know that he probably won't have a great head. She (breeder) has been working on her heads, but they're still not as nice as some of the dogs showing around here. So hopefully his body turns out well. More than anything appearance wise at the moment that I'm concerned about is his crop. I'm not too pleased at all with Keira's, so hopefully this litter will have nicer crops when the time comes. :)

Gotcha!

Is the same cropper doing the ears? I think I remember you saying that the breeder likes Keira's ears... I hope your boy get a nice, elegant crop for his cute little head!

Yeah, she always uses the same person. He's done a pretty good job in the past... I'm not sure what happened with the last two litters. His crops have never really been my preference as I prefer more of an artistic shape (like your dogs), but my breeder likes him. He's not as experienced as others and I think is still learning and perfecting his technique. He's only been cropping for about 4 years I think. The breeder didn't think Keira's ears were too bad when she was a puppy, but she doesn't like them now. One is a bit shorter than the other and they're not really the same shape. I think that was a fluke thing though, as she's the only one that ended up with ears that don't match eachother.

Wow, that's quite a difference!

But I'll let you in on a little secret... Ilsa's ears were two different lengths too. I think it just happens sometimes.

Who knows, maybe the Dobes with the mismatched ears are the best ones of all... I really like Keira, she seems like a wonderful girl. :)
