Well, we got him from my sister she got him from a byb that was attemping to breed "pitbulls" His mom is definitely "pitbull" but his dad could not possibly be the male "pitbull" that they were breeding her with, just look at him.
And my friend told me that "pitbulls" were naturally aggressive dogs and that despite all the best training and love in the world we just couldn't be sure that he would attack us someday.
I argued that one out with him but he still thinks that Chance might attack some kid some day, I'm just really upset because he believes the breed should be eliminated, and that they serve no other purpose but to attack.
He just believes they are naturally vicious and will grow to big to ever be trusted around children.
I know that is just the opinion of one person and honestly he thinks I'm a little flaky and that I have poor judgment. And I think he is afraid of big dogs. He told me that a JRT would have been a better choice of dog. But in my opinon JRT are just as inclined as "pitbulls" for aggression and that I wouldn't leave my children unsupervised with either breed. Not that I don't trust them, it's more a matter of not trusting my children not to provoke them. If the opportunity presented itself and the circumstances allowed I wouldn't mind having any type of dog in my home. I certainly don't think that one breed should be eliminated either. It all falls into responsible ownership.
I've done my research, and I work with my dog, I can't afford to put him in classes yet but as soon as I get my son's tuition paid off it is on the top of my list.
