Fall is gearing up here in MI! Breaking out the sweaters.

What will your dog be sporting in this chilly weather?

We just ordered a new coat from Made by Meadowcat. Pink houndstooth. Excited. :)

For serious cold we have the Great White North from Chilly Dogs.

I love our RC pets coat. It's the best fitting coat I've found so far for him.

Buttt his bomber jacket is super stylish and warm, too. :p

I have two Ruffwears, the Cloud Chaser and the Climate Changer, they fit both Indy and Enzo, then I have a sort of horse blanket type coat that looks like it came out of Top Gun, if Top Gun was for dogs, and then I have your regular run of the mill dog sweaters from Petsmart lol.

Indy has no undercoat right now, so I'm anticipating she'll be the only one in a jacket or sweater if it gets REALLY cold for some reason. Ozzy, Enzo and Harrison are coated up. Harrison is actually shedding a bit being here. (He's originally an Iowan, lol, so this is a bit of a change for him)

I did order the Hurtta overalls, I need something for snow this year that covers all his legs, but I got it and it's WAY too small so going be returning it. I got the 14M and the legs are entirely too short and it's just... too small for Jax.

Anyone have any other suggestions for snowsuit type things that won't break the bank?

We don't do winter. Except Ru. It's always winter for Ru.

Fleecy coverall-thingy from Hurtta with the legs rolled up:

Fuzzy Ruffwear jacket:

My Little Pony sweater:

YapWrap winter vest:

StegasauRu:

Disney Tinkerbell Dress (minus the wings, he hates those):

Tiny dragon:

Yoda sweatshirt:

Glow-in-the-dark skeleton hoodie:

Bathrobe for post-bath chills:

I don't have a problem.

Those are awesome pink!! I'm pretty good about staying out of trouble with only one single coated dog, thankfully.

That yoda. Hehe.

Britt, I'll have to look around! I've heard hurrtas sizing sucks.

No, you don't have a problem at all. Ru, however.... :rofl1:

This from a woman who owns a dog "Tickle Trunk" (If you google that, please God google it in conjunction with the words "Mr Dressup", will you?). I love Halloween.

On the more practical side, all my dogs have Chilly Dog winter coats for walks. Last winter was absolutely brutal here. Unending frigid temperatures and snow that wouldn't leave. Our January thaw... well, it just didn't. We had to layer the dogs just so they could manage five minutes outside to P&P. Fleece Dog E Designs joggers underneath Greenhawk Shedrow coats.

Those Hurtta coats look interesting. Really could use something water-resistant with legs.

If "they're" right and it's another winter like that, we're moving to Florida.

I am madly in love with our Hurtta coats. They are easy to put on, and hold up like iron. Gusto in particular is HARD on his coats, and the only damage this one has seen is that one of the leg straps pulled loose on one side. I stitched it back on, and no further problems. Plus they don't slide around on the dogs, which a lot of coats seem to do with my dogs. And as you can see, they clearly don't restrict movement much ;)

Meg is grateful that I no longer work outdoors, so just a single layer of Hurtta coat is required. This is the old set-up from when she used to go to work at the barn with me. She had full access to a heated room with a dog bed, but mostly preferred to be out with me.

Seamus has a Canada Pooch jacket (and dogbooties.com booties). :p

I ordered Paris a Hurtta jacket when they were on sale, hopefully the sizing works out.

I so want one of these. Watson doesn't get cold usually (unless it's under 10deg) but the snow balls are so annoying. I might order just the leg cover thingies.

Corvus doesn't do cold, so I ordered him a new Hurtta. Now if it will just get here before winter. I also ordered one for Ditto, even though she doesn't seem to mind the cold at all, just because they were on sale and well, maybe the south will get a blizzard this year. Ha.

I'm also going to order Corvus a couple of MeadowCat fleeces for indoors as well. Our house is old and drafty, and gets quite cold in the winter so he needs his comfort. I may buy Ditto one as well, just to see if she likes something a little less heavy duty than a coat.

Roxie's got two hoodies from Zack and Zoey (orange and green), and a pink Fido Fleece that she will wear under her red/orange Hurtta winter coat if it's super chilly and we'll be out for a long time.

I have fido fleece coats for the crew and a Ruffwear Climate Changer that Kes and Aeri can both wear. They rarely are needed, but I use them on wet dogs at early spring dock dog events and occasionally if someone is going to to be staying in the car for longer periods during a cold snap. :)

Just an FYI for those looking for coats this season..the Blue Hurtta Winter Jackets are going to be retailing between $10-16.99 at TJ Maxx/Homegoods. Possibly at other retailers selling them too, as once Hurtta found out (they were very upset), they offered the rest of their stock at the reduced price too.

Pip doesn't hardly ever need a coat. He runs hot, apparently he's got a thermonuclear generator nestled in between his liver and spleen. On the rare occasions when he has gotten chilly buns (usually when we are fall camping) he wears Maisy's K9 Top Coat Kodiak.

Squash despises coats. This is what he looks like when he wears a coat:

He won't move. So far I have only made him wear it when we are standing around waiting for a skijor race to start. He never really seems to get cold, anyway, so I haven't bothered conditioning him to wear one.

Maisy gets chilly buns easily. She frequently wears her Kodiak coat even when skijoring. She also has a coat like the black coat Squash is wearing above, but I don't have any pictures of her in it. And she has a set of PJs.

Nothing yet. If Feist doesn't get some undercoat soon, which I highly doubt, she'll need something though.

Maddie has a blue Hurtta coat, if it gets cold enough.

She also has a pink Richards Cost Harness. I got it at a dog show vender at the IX center, I really like this one.

Bailey says no just no.
she's a snow dog. :p lol

What were they upset about?

And wow, I'll definitely be checking out TJ Maxx and Homegoods for Hurrta stuff.
