Ned is getting an attention span! Just today I think he really "got" hand targets. I've worked a bit with him before but they were kind of hit or miss. I also started trying to shape a foot target (or something) with a tin container. I had to roll it a few times at first to get his interest (his first instinct is to paw something) but after that he was pretty reliably pawing and/or standing on it. He's also learning to work through frustration. There were a couple times tonight where he'd stop, whine, then think hard and do the behaviour. Smart puppy.
Did I mention that this was all with his dinner right beside me (what I was using for treats)? He totally ignored the bowl and worked with me instead!
Walter is 4.5 months old right now and he's starting to lose his fluff! He's having lots of fun at his obedience class and he's such a smart boy. He LOVES people, but big dogs make him a little nervous. We'll have to work in that.
