Uh... someone told me it was 3, but I can't find a limit in the ordinances at all, so I don't know. I don't pay much attention, anyway. Limit laws are stupid.
I'm not sure what the limit is in my specific county. I know that in the county I work in the limit is 3. My boss lives in that county and has 7 or 8 dogs living on her property so it doesn't seem to be heavily enforced.
We have 3 dogs and our landlord's have 2 so 5 dogs here. I'm sure we are over the limit, but I'm not too worried about it. Already tentatively for a 4th (show and coursing dog) which may not be for a few more years (depends on quite a few things).
3 is the max though a Service Dog does not count as one of those. So when Daya is fully trained we can still have 3 other dogs. We can apply for a kennel license if we want more though. Our landlord doesn't care how many pets we have. Out of all the properties he manages(around 50) we are the only ones allowed pets because of how we care for them and don't allow them to potty in the yard. He is always bragging about the potty pen to other renters and the owners. lol Right now though we only have Sheena and Daya with no plans of another for a while.
When I moved here the limit was 1 dog on a property under 1000m2 (over 1000m2 the limit was 2). After a council almagamation with other local councils the limit changed to 2 dogs per household or more on approval of application.
We just wrote on the ap, that we are mindful of and active with our dogs and were approved for our 4, we are also on acreage which helps.
None, especially out of town where I live.
I've always wondered, say you live where there's a 4 dog limit and have 4 dogs, and you breed one of your dogs, who has 6 puppies. Would the pups count toward the limit?

There is a neighbourhood here with an HOA that only allows 2 and flat out will not allow people to breed though. But that's not because of a limit, they just won't let people breed because there's a "high standard" of living out there and breeding... leads to... something.
Whenever you go into that neighbourhood, though, it's a game of slalom weaving in and out of all the cars parked in the street on both sides up and down EVERY road... high standard of living my ass. But oh no, somebody breeding their dogs there would RUIN it for EVERYBODY!
Because REASONS!
We can have 3 dogs in the city, and I don't think there's a cat limit.
Frag is registered with a co-owner in a different county, so we technically only have two in the city. I won't be living here when we get another, though, so it doesn't really matter. I don't rent so I don't have to worry about that, but we are looking to move in the next few months; probably back to a rental with an awesome landlord that let me have 3 of my own dogs and fosters plus renters' dogs all at the same time.
Since I live in the middle of nowhere I can technically have as many as I want. When I lived in town it was 3. I only have 2 so it's never been a problem for me.
Here in town it is a limit of 3 pets. The way they word it could be cats, dogs, birds. They are not very clear on it. 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 bird and 1 rabbit. I currently have With plans to add another dog. I don't count the cat, the bird or the rabbit.
