There is nothing worse than, at 1am, seeing a ginormous black evil spider on the wall next to your bed. Right when you were about to crawl in that bed and sleep.

I tried to kill him but he was too fast for me and ran God knows where. So great, I still wanted to go to bed but now I couldn't even relieve my anxiety by knowing that he was at least dead. No. Stupid thing was still on the loose. So I pulled my bed out into the middle of the room and had to hope that nothing would attack me on my island lol. But I didn't really fall asleep until about 5. Good thing I didn't have to work this morning. Although the funny thing is, if I would have had to work, I would have went to bed before 1am and probably never would have known there was a spider in my room....

First thing I did this morning was go all Orkin-man on my bedroom. Bought a couple different spider killer sprays. Vacuumed the bedroom. Sprayed all my baseboards and any potential entrances. Sprayed the foundation outside. And now I just pray that takes care of it. :p

I'm glad my life isn't ruled by such phobias. Good luck to you, I'm one that would just pick up the spider and put him back outside. It's never made sense to me to be afraid of such critters.

I like the picture of the jumping spider. lol I don't mind spiders. I will at times watch them crawl around my house. They're neat animals. There is one species that I often find in the house. I should try to find out which species it is.

I'm not afraid of spiders (well, besides the poisonous ones!), but I do have some phobias so I'm understanding. I'm terrified of having blood drawn (like, in order to have it taken I need to be heavily sedated and/or dying). Most people think having blood drawn isn't a big deal, but it's the scariest thing in the world for me.

You and I both. Though I can understand people have bad phobias. I have some fears but they don't rule my life. I do have a fear of cockroaches but it doesn't rule my life and I don't have the heart to kill them. Actually, one lived beside my bed for a few months! I didn't have the heart to kill him and I saved one once.

Actually, I feel bad for laughing at my friend. She has a HUGE phobia of spiders. Once, she was sleeping over and in the shower. A spider crawled on the shower curtain and o god, her screams, it sounded like she was being murdered. Funniest day, I couldn't stop laughing. It's still funny but I felt so bad for laughing.

But she's the reason I understand people with phobias.

But some of them JUMP. Which is about just as bad!
And omg I would seriously lose my mind if one ever releases its spawn anywhere near my bed. I was hyperventilating last night and just about ready to burst into tears wondering how on earth I was going to survive the night with just one on the loose!

Jessie that picture is awful. Just awful. :p

I can tolerate spiders as long as they are not on me, and not anywhere near my sleeping space. If they would just stay outside we'd be cool. But when they are in my bedroom I absolutely lose my mind. Nope, it's not fun (clearly!) but it is what it is. And did I mention how HUGE this guy was? This was not just a pinky-nail sized spider... which still sends me into full panic mode mind you... he was way too large for my liking.

For me I'm not terrified of them but I am cautious. Saw one of my friends almost lose a leg to a fiddleback that gave me more nightmares than the actual spider!

Same here. I'll be understanding, but I'll probably laugh too. But I laugh at the most inappropriate things, I really don't know why. I find it funny though, that most of the big buff, 6 feet + guys I know are scared of them. And I follow a lot of military on Tumblr, and pretty much everyone of them is terrified. Someone trying to kill me? No problem. Spider? RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

I am disgusted by roaches though. They creep me out, so I feel your pain when it comes to sleeping in a room with a scary critter in it. I always pull my blanket around me into a cocoon so I feel like it can't touch me

I like it too! And I also enjoy watching them prowl around late at night.

Once I left my towel on the ground when I picked it up to wrap around me a giant black spider fell out :lol-sign: The idea of squishing its soft delicate body against my unclothed self until it bit gave me heebee jeebies, even if I don't mind spiders lo

I find it hilarious when people are terrified of spiders. It is silly as most species are harmless. lol I think the only time I would be afraid of a spider is with the venomous species. I wouldn't want a venomous one in my house such as a black widow, hobo or brown recluse.
