What was your first dog?

I grew up with 2 Lhasa Apsos named Sam and Jenny. "My" first dog was a Jack Russel Terrier named Sparky.

the first dog i lived with was a newfoundland named duffy that my parents had when i was born.

i never had a dog that was "mine" when i lived with my parents. we had a family dog, but that was it.

my first dog that was *mine* was a miniature poodle named siren that i adopted when she was 15 1/2 and had for 18 (very very long) months.

Mixed breed called Harvey - he must have been collie X GSD or something...

The it was a border collie called Penny.. She was a beautiful, clever dog!

And now the Bo Monster.. Who is the perfect dog in every way imaginable... And I'm not biased - it's TRUE

I got her for my 8th birthday and loved her with all my heart. A great tragedy in my life was leaving her with my parents when I went to college. I won't tell you the whole story, but my mom was pretty terrible to her, so she was miserable and lonely the last few years of her life.

My first dog was one that I picked out from the pound with my parents. He was an English Springer Spaniel named Cisco, and he was awesome.

Jester is my first dog where I am completely responsible for him.

My first dog was a black and white american cocker called Very. It is dead 6 years ago, it was 17 years old!

Mine was a mutt named Mino (short for Domino). He had a splited nose, and was the smartest dog I've ever known. Everyone who entered my house had to leave his belonging outside if he wanted to take it with him when leaving our house. If he took his hat/shoes inside, then when he left, we had to hand them to him! According to Mino, everything that was inside our house were ours, and it was his job to protect it with all his might . He had never bitten anyone, it was just his intense stare that was intimidating to others

I felt completely protected and loved by him. He had been with us for 16 years when he passed away to doggie heaven. I still missed him to this day!

My first dog was a GSD/Golden mix. I had him until he had to be put down for HD when he was 12. He was an awesome awesome dog.

Well lets see........My very first dog was the dog my family had when I was born. A female black Shar Pei puppy named Coaline. Though as I got older I bonded much more closely to my grandparents who lived next doors female fawn Shar Pei Mai Ling.

Then there was Moe Moe who wasent really all mine but I took the most care of her so I guess I would call her officially my first dog. Moe Moe was a female standard poodle/Siberian Husky we got as a rescue pregnant. She was great dog.

First dog I remember was a mean little rat terrier named Weezel..(parents dog that they had already before i was born)

First dog for me was a chocolate lab named butch when I was about 10 or so

my first all my very own dog was a poodle shnauzer mix i found in the cold and icy creek bed. She was just a puppy too.

Mine was a collie named Annie. My brother brought her home while he was at college and she was a puppy. I think I was in the sixth grade at the time. She was the sweetest dog in the world. Our neighbor killed her and threw her out on the side of the highway!!

A mutt named Copper. One of the truck drivers who worked for my Uncle Miles rescued him from the middle of the road. Dad brought him home when I was two. He and my Mom gave him to a farmer they were friends with just before my fourth birthday because they couldn't handle him. I was the only person he tolerated or listened to, lol! The only reason he got to stay that long - aside from my tears - was because he just despised my grandmother (paternal) who lived down the street from us. That bought him some time with my Mom, lol!

They got me Mickey, a Toy Fox Terrier, for my fourth birthday, and took me to the circus, where one of the acts was a guy with six dogs just like Mickey. I came home from the circus and taught her to do the tricks, lol! The only being in the house more stubborn than Mickey was me
