They are pretty social and inquisitive. The males get a bit aggressive when mature I have heard if not neutered. This particular one is a rescue and lives at Rocky Ridge Refuge. (She also has another adult capy). Long story short, Cobbler was bought and shipped at a week (ONE FREAKING WEEK!) old to a teenager in NYC. When his parents found out they said no, not to mention they are illegal to keep in NYC. He is about 10 weeks now so still very much a baby and oh so cute and snuggly. Her adult one is super sweet too though...this is one of my friends with cheesecake when I visited one time last year...(she is actually pretty small for an adult capy)

It's probably inflation and increased fuel costs and better/pricier technology, but I swear like 5-10 years ago spending $700-1500 for a dog's surgery was the norm. Your bill for basic treatment/diagnostics was usually $200-500. They quoted me $5200-7000 for Romeo's surgery (blockage, resection, and splenectomy) (plus I had spent $600 the night before at the other evet). They worked out a lower cost based on my CareCredit approval but it was still a lot. Between Romeo and Fez that weekend, I spent about $5000.
