I'm so thankful to have Zander. No matter what is going on in our lives, he takes it with ease. We've moved again, I threw him in a car after everything in the house changed, come in a household with another dog and three strange people, and 4 or 5 years ago that would have traumatized him for weeks. But he just walked in like he knew the place, initiated some play, found his spot to lay down and that's been that.
He misses his Child, but he enjoys having another dog around, and he loves the cat too, much to her disgust. He follows everyone around happily, asks for lovings from people he doesn't know.
It just makes me so happy to know that after 8 1/2 years, he's really blossomed into a wonderful dog. He still has his few moments of skittish, but I really couldn't ask anymore from him now than I have in the last two years. And the fact that he just goes with the flow helps me tons.
Now if only he would cuddle.
