Why WOULDN'T you want pretty? I'll settle for "good enough" but I'd totally want pretty.

I think I've mentioned it here before, but Cohen should have NQ'd on her last RE leg. She broke her honour, but the helper didn't see it I guess. I wasn't even in the ring when they were calling out placements... they called me in and I was so confused - I think we placed 2nd... The other competitors completely knew should have NQ'd too.

Judges make mistakes, and I'm kind of okay just rolling with her decision that day, but I feel badly for taking a placement from people who did it properly.
I feel like this, too. :-/

Thanks!

Can't remember if you said so or not yet. Did you guys get into the NW1 trial you were going to sign up for?
Apparently I was dumb and didn't realize that it is only NW2/3. Bummer! I so wanted to do a trial 5min from my house. I don't know why our instructor didn't mention that. There is a NW1 trial in late May though that we will definitely sign up for. We need to practice vehicles and exteriors though. I'm sure he would alert eventually even if he was super distracted, but the marking outdoors worries me. He's a pee machine.

My dog broke out of the mudroom. Again. So now there's a gate in front of the sliding door, so that she can't nose it open. That door is hard enough for ME to push open. How the heck does she do it with her snipey little muzzle?

She was fine with that door for four years. She's always been so good in the mudroom. I don't understand. I don't get it. Is it because I left her out twice, when everything had been put up, and now she wants to be free all the time?

I guess I'm just glad that she didn't get into the "dog closet", where all the extra dog food, treats, etc are.

I'm of half a mind to buy a huge tall steel gate and just put her in the nook of the mudroom where her crate (doorless except when traveling) and bowls are.

I don't get it, Roxie. Not just the why, but the how. The door is heavy, it's not warped or anything. How on earth could she have done it? I'm going to set up a camera to see how she does tomorrow.

If she can get out of this, I give up.

My dog decided it would be fun to go trash diving and eat all the yummy scraps that were put in there.

5 years and this is the first time ever she has done that or anything remotely "bad".

She had such a guilty look, but you could tell it was so worth it to her :lol-sign:'

ETA: plus the fatty had just finished eating! So I know she wasn't starving:rolleyes:

Logically I know that I would find life too hectic if I had five dogs, but that doesn't stop me from really wanting another Aussie. That is, until I look around at my freshly cleaned house only to find dust and dog hair landing everywhere. It never ends! Dance and Journey are shedding so badly lately. Normally it isn't too bad but it's ridiculous recently.

Squash was my demo dog for a community education seminar I did about acupuncture tonight, and he was a rock star. Waited quietly in his crate until he was up, and then stood like a champ for a treatment. He's such a good boy.

OMG I am loving the later sunset. I think having this winter being ridiculous has made it even better. I've been able to take the best walks with my guys after work the past few days.

Yeah, I'm totally in the same boat. I want a Buhund really badly. I totally don't NEED another dog for like 10 years, but I want one :p

That and there's a dog at work I love and want forever and ever (my training manager even told me she wishes I could take him) but it would involve SAR training like every weekend and he's a male so yeah. More males in my house is a bad plan at this time and I have too much stuff going on in terms of agility trialing to think of taking my weekends away :/

He's an amazing dog. And he's lucky to have you as an owner/trainer <3

Big show this weekend and I'm getting nervous! We're entered for both days of the New England Sporting Group show. There is only one other class dog, which gives us a decent shot at a couple points. Their are majors in bitches both days which also gives us a good shot at picking up a major by going best of winners. I'd really like to finish him this year, but without driving super long distances to find majors, so fingers crossed! We were in the exact same position with regard to entries in November and lost both days :( I think it was a toss up, as the other dog was probably equal in quality to Watson, but we showed poorly both days which didn't help. This time I'd at least like to not embarrass ourselves.

The Welshie people sponsored prizes, which is fun. Reserve winners dog (which we will get by default even if we lose) is a stuffed toy, so Watson will be happy no matter what. :p

I'm jealous of the Gordon Setter people who can win upland bird hunting steins, or pheasant nightlights. Haha

The disadvantage of having a brown dog?

You can only tell they are muddy when they leave a giant brown spot on your carpet after laying down even though they looked clean upon visual inspection before being let into the house.

Eeeewwww. Guess it's bath time. My bathroom is going to be a nightmare of mud.

Yaaaaaay first dock diving event for the season officially registered for. Anxious to see how Patton likes the water so that he can start jumping, too! This one will be Recon only, all day Saturday at the Ultimate Sport Show - his first indoor event! Can't waaaaaait to get out there again.

I've decided this is just par for the course when showing silly gundogs.

Fred is so big and lazy him lumbers unless we have room to stretch out..... And me being a noob, well, we've embarrassed ourselves tons and tons. I hate the small open shows, the rings are like 3 paces wide it feels!! Crufts was fab, the ring was massive!!!!

He will never be a champion (well, you never know, but I doubt it!), but I've decided to try and at least use him to learn some skills for next dog!!!

I LOVE my new class! Love love love it. Such a fantastic group of dogs and so fun to just do tricks with Summer. My class is:

Summer
2 Aussies we've done classes with before. Love them both. Bouncy and happy and fun
a toller PUPPY (maybe 12 weeks? So FLUFF)
a precious little cattle dog that is so sweet and adorable when she's training. Seriously, I'd steal her.
a silken windhound. So sweet and calm and just gorgeous. I had never met one before but had met LHW. She is spectacular.

Got lots of silken loves today. Cuddly like you wouldn't believe and so gentle. Seemed very smart and methodical about things. May have to put one on my list for a few dogs down.

Summer was the most hyper dog there by FAR. Of course. My little old dog is the craziest.
